I have been lurking on the THR for awhile. I finally got registered so I can post.

For those of you who have yet to discover the Lingerie bag for picking up brass while at the range let me enlighten you.
I got two of them at walmart in the aisle with the ironing boards, laundry bags, and clothes hangers. For a whopping big $0.94 you get a 15"x18" mesh bag with a zipper end and a loop.

I have used mine for both .45 and .223 so far and it rocks

The mesh is big enough to let gravel, sand, dirt, and other debris fall out. It should work for any caliber except maybe .22, but who picks up .22's anyway.

Great tip. I've been using a coffee can but always end up with a ton of debris and crud in it (some of which presumably ends up in the tumbling media). Thanks.

This is a good application; great tip! For a minute there, I read the opening line- "For those of you who have yet to discover the Lingerie bag for picking up brass-" ....and thought I had found brass-catching Nirvana. No such luck.

OK, this is harder to describe than to build, but I had some pvc and a number of 90 degree els left from a home plumbing job, so I built a brass catcher for bench use when I chronograph semi auto rifle and pistol loads. Built a rectangle the size of the mesh bag and zip tied the bag to the pvc. Off the back verticle legs I used two t connectors, came off an inch or so, 90 degree els pointing down, then pvc legs connecting the "Catcher" section to a rectangular base. Some short pieces of rebar in the base weights the thing down. Dry fit the pvc that connects the base and mouth sections so you can vary the heigth (sp?) of the connecting legs. Whew. I should get a digital camera. Cost was under ten bucks. It is much appreciated by those to my right.

I use the "springloaded" mesh laundry hamper for picking up shotgun hulls. Folds up to about the size of an oversized CD, has two carry handles. Unfolding it can be both interesting and exciting.

Got it for a buck at one of those dollar stores, when the kids and I were buying out all their ballons. (Ballons + Few Clays * Marlin Model 60 + a brick .22LR = Much Family Fun)

Here's a pic. Only picture it filled with AA's and STS's, Brass might get a little heavy after a while.
