Same here. I also prefer the open-bottom loading compared to the typical tongue type on the Remington. And the bolt release placement is vastly superior on the Mossberg.I prefer the safety on the Mossberg
Well it could hardly be a step down...Have read positive reviews on the new 870 Fieldmaster. Have not personally seen one, but then I`m not in the market. Supposedly a step up from the Express.
Well it could hardly be a step down...
i just bought my sister a new 590 persuader retrograde.
the wood is kinda dark, but not hideous. fit and finish were decent.
i am not a pump action shotgun guy, but it was a pretty nice gun.
i traded the new 590 to her, for my dads mid 70s rem 1100 12 ga.
we were both pretty happy!
I would trust Remarms before thinking I will ever grow to prefer aluminum to steel.
Way to beat up on your sister!!
I've got an 870 18" 12 Ga, but it's and older one from late 1980s. Always loved the 870s, but sad to say if the choice were between a new 870 or 590, I'd go with a 590 until REM gets its shirt together. However, I wouldn't limit myself to new when looking at any firearms. I'd find an older 870 in lightly used condition from back in the day.
