Good morning gentlemen. I’m looking for a search of your collective library for published data. Published only.

I have Alliant’s & Speer’s but beyond that I’m striking out. Didn’t think SP was THAT new or unpopular:)

Lyman’s pamphlet for auto pistol loads (2017, fifth printing), nothing;
Gun-Guides (2016 printing), nothing;
Lee’s Second Edition, nothing.

Again, 45ACP published only for 230gr RN. I’ll take lead, coated, plated, FMJ, TMJ.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, thanks, second sentence of my post says I have Speer’s data.

I would hope there are members of the opposite sex that frequent the forum and reload as well! I’m sold on SP and down to my last few pounds, it seems to be in the unobtanium category lately. In reference to the OP, I’ve not seen it anywhere other than what’s been mentioned here. GRT didn’t have it last time I looked.

There may be but if you or someone else here doesn’t qualify based on biological sex, assigned gender, chosen pronouns, state of flux (in transition), or even ungentlemanly behavior, then simply don’t answer and move on:)

I don’t care for SP (relative to other powders) but didn’t know that before I bought several pounds. I’d get rid of it if I could. But until I can, I’ll still collect published data just in case.

Many match shooters consider Sport Pistol very comparable to N320 that burns cleaner at lower price.

If I was close to you, I would gladly take them.
Same continent anyway.

Since I only load/shoot 9mm & 45ACP and have found what like, I’ve decided to stick with just Bullseye, BE-86, & W231/HP38.

I have other powders in stock from my experimental period (now over) but am now just keeping to a minimalist approach since my range time is so precious.

Great choice of powders.

Of course many match shooters would prefer N320/Titegroup/Sport Pistol over Bullseye/W231/HP-38 - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...e-your-new-powder.910595/page-2#post-12415144

And while I used to load duplicate factory JHP ammunition with WSF, I switched to BE-86 for higher velocities and greater accuracy.

Interesting. I have 20lbs of powder I’ve got to use before I try something new:)

BTW, a clean load of SP hurts my hands these days. Thus, the less I shoot the less I like it.

If you don't like Sport Pistol, there will be plenty of match shooters and reloaders like me who would gladly trade/buy from you.

On Brian Enos forum, many migrated to Sport Pistol from N320/Titegroup/W231/HP-38 and other powders.

For what it's worth, I've tried Sport Pistol in a couple different 45 Auto loads. Seemed to work well under 215gr cast bullets, but not so well with 185gr plated bullets.

For lightest recoil load for 45ACP, it's hands down Promo/Red Dot. I use 4.0 gr of Promo with 200 gr LSWC and it's very pleasant to shoot even out of compact/subcompact pistols. And if your barrel is oversized, softer 12 BHN MBC 200 gr SWC (Bullseye #1) will produce accuracy without leading.

Faster burning Bullseye produced firm recoil for my 9mm pistols and I found slower burning W231/HP-38/WSF/BE-86 to produce different recoil impulse that pushes than snaps. But you can lower powder charges of faster burning powder til the slide barely cycles and still produce efficient enough powder burn to produce acceptable accuracy.

For light 9mm recoil load, I use 4.1-4.2 gr of Promo with 115 gr FMJ/RN to reliably cycle the slides of Glocks/M&P Shield and produce pleasant felt recoil (4.4-4.5 gr is comparable to Winchester white box) -

Lymans 51st like mentioned above. And speers latest too has data for S.P. I loaded some 200 grain RNFP yesterday. 6 grans and col of 1.196. I went by the crimp grove on the bullets for col.

You know it’s Alliant’s “made especially for coated bullets” pitch that enticed me to buy it. Quite frankly though I saw nothing special in that regard. Im just another sap falling for marketing.
LOL......Me also, I have had good results with it in 380acp, 9mm, and 38 Special so far.....Haven't tried it yet in 45acp or 44 Special....
