Made In America Does That Include Your Guns?

Other then 1 C&R rifle, and 3 shot guns, every thing else is made in the us.

I buy mostly surps, and I've yet to see an American-made Carcano.

Also, yeah on the "I buy the best, don't blame me if you don't make it here", and I absolutely-positively refuse to support second-rate manufacturers based on nationalism.

Gun must work. Gun must be the best for the role I want. Second best doesn't and cannot cut it unless it's much cheaper, and even then probably won't be acceptable to me.

Off the top of my head:

American: Kolar, Remington, Winchester, Colt, S&W, NEF, Smith-Corona, Springfield Armory, DPMS

Italian: Beretta, Benelli

German: SIG-Sauer, Walther

Misc: Browning (Japan), Browning (Belgium), Sako, Taurus (Brazil), CZ

Based purely on manufacturers, it's 50% US, 50% foreign.

Roughly half American, the remainder about equally from Germany, Italy, Belgium, and Brazil, with the remainder from Canada and China (it was a gift!)

(I wasn't sure exactly how to count the USA/Brazil SA Mil-Spec 1911)

Companies:
Beretta
Charter Arms
Colt
Double Star
Fabrique Nationale
Hecker & Koch
Kahr
Kel-Tec
Kimber
Marlin
Mateba
Mossberg
Norinco
North American Arms
Rossi
Savage
Springfield Armory
Taurus

This is hard.

Marlin (2)
Kel-Tec (2)
Ruger
Remington (2)
Bushmaster
NEF (2)
S&W
Henry
Winchester M1917

Okay, so I'm about 35% American made with my guns.

Mostly American , but a good European representation . Belgian Browning HP, CZ in 22 Hornet, Several Swedish Mausers, Swiss K-31, 1911 and a Vetterli. French Darne and Charlin sliding breech shotguns, a nice little Spanish sidelock. and finally a Yugo 48. All the foreign makes are quality arms and most are rather unique.

I buy fire arms that work for the best price, American made is great but some where along the line American made just does not matter. I have several Italian made goods, several american made goods, one from the Philipins and a few from other places.

Again not anti american but when products like hi-point(I have owned a few and most failed) and that Mercury suv I owned was a lemon too. Its just hard to stand on a soap box and yell with pride that all american products are the best.

Just as a note I understand both hi-point and Mercury make stuff that works but they lost my vote long ago and I discurage any one I can from trying them based on my experience, but if you choose to have one then fine I wont argue with you.

I'm about 50/50.
I also have a Springfield Armory M1911 G.I. The frame is machined in Brazil but the gun is "built" in America. I'm going to count it as "Made in USA".

50% European, mostly because they are better quality.....About 40% made in the USA, 10% other countries.....

I believe in supporting capitalism. If a foreign company is making a better product, the American companies need to get their ###es in gear and catch up. I am not going to reward laziness by supporting inferior products. I'd really like to support American companies, and I fully believe that they have the ability to seize the market. But it has to be through providing good products at a competitive price. I don't subscribe to the "buy American" car philosophy just to keep worthless and bloated union jobs afloat. And I am not going to transfer that philosophy to guns either. I buy what works best for the lowest price I can. If American companies don't fit that bill, they're doing something wrong.

I will say that I have a soft spot for certain countries and a dislike for others; basically, I like supporting our allies, especially if they're ones who survived Communism or other oppression (and don't currently dislike us). I'd like to own some CZ stuff one day, although I don't have any available niches at the moment*. Something Polish would be nice, too. Something British would be good, and I don't know if Australia makes any firearms. An East Timorese copy of an M-16 would be pretty cool (although clearly illegal), and I still sorta-kinda view the Philippines as kin to America. I'm not aware of any Danish or Norwegian guns. If I had any place (and money) for a Finnish Valmet I'd buy one.

There are some countries I'd never buy from and others where I'm not pleased to have bought from them, but I'll keep it High Road.

*If all my guns were wiped out and I had to start again, I could probably get by with just the CZ catalog.

Beats the snot out of me - how can you even tell for sure?

I've got an American made CZ (Dan Wesson).
I wouldn't mind a S&W Turkish SxS.
Then there's the Brazilian Springfield.
The American SIG (1911)
The Russian Remington
The Italian Marlin
The Japanese Browning (Winchester?)
The American Glock (beats me what this is but the ATF is showing 26,000 domestically produced Glocks)
The American Beretta.
The Chinese NEF

I gave up trying to sort it out when I realized it was equally easy to get a domestic Beretta as an Italian Marlin or a Serbian Remington for that matter.

Oops. Forget the Philippine STI.

i have two american made berettas(21a and 3032). one american made walther(interarms ppk). 3 S&Ws(sw1911,3566,and 3914). all the rest european.
