Made In America Does That Include Your Guns?

8 of 9 might be 9/9 are springfield GI's made in the US?

I thing the lower end Springfiled 1911s are made in Brazil.

I think a lot of the weapons listed might better be called "America branded" than American made. I am pretty sure Rugers are made in the US, and I they do a lot of casting for other manufacturers, but a lot of "US" weapons are either manufactured somewhere else or assembled from parts not made in the US.

Are S&W's made in the US? I thought I recalled that (like Springfield), only their "custom shop" stuff is made in the US.

For me:

  1. Ruger Blackhawk - pretty this is completely manufactured in the US
  2. Armalite AR 24 - American brand manufactured in Turkey
  3. Schmidt-Rubin K31 - Pretty sure it's all Swiss manufacture.
  4. Marlin 39A - mid 60s, so I assume it's made in the US.

American-made:

3 Rugers
3 Smith & Wessons
2 Kahrs
1 Colt
Total: 9

Made in other countries:

2 CZs (Czech Republic)
1 Glock (Austria)
1 Beretta (Italy)
1 Browning (manufactured in Japan)

Total: 5

Grand total: 14. 9 divided by 14 = 64%

My gun (and other) purchases are made with regard to my wants or needs, regardless of country of origin or manufacture (not always the same thing, as evidenced by my one Browning, as well as my American-manufactured Toyota truck).

thank you

toyotas, honda's and BMW's are made in the USA

fords and Chevy's are made in Mexico and Canada. nationalism is a joke at the moment, move on.

My money goes to the company that can deliver the best quality product in a given price range, whether or not it's American made(except when a country's inflationary monetary policy gives it an unfair and unethical advantage). To do otherwise would be to subsidize failure. That said, I do prefer American-made goods.

I own a half-dozen Rugers. I also own a Walther PPK/S that was made by S&W. Does that count? It seems that nationalism crosses a great many borders these days.

67% American
6% Austrian
6% Canadian
6% Czech
3% Belgian
3% Brazilian
3% Bulgarian
3% German
3% Israeli

>80% American, I always shop American first. If I cannot find an American firearm in the class I am looking in the top 3 choices, then I look elsewhere.

Here's the breakdown:
Remington - 3 long guns/shotguns
Kimber
Bushmaster
Ruger
1 Glock, necessary to enter GSSF events.

I'd say I'm 95% "Made in America" for my guns. Most all of them are Colts (12). I have a Wilson Combat and an Armalite AR10T carbine. my only non-US made gun is my Browning Citori and I saw on the box it has made in Japan (???)
