Made me Laugh

It was about 2 years ago that in our local weekly "shopper", someone advertised a Rem 700 30-06 with a 3-9X40 yard scope. Bet it was tough to get that proper cheekweld.

TV does it too. I was watching X-Files yesterday and the bad guy had a pistol gripped side by side. The innocent victim got the gun and off camera you heard it's slide rack. I'd never heard a double gun make that sound.

For a good laugh rent the movie "SHOOT EM UP"

pay attention to the pawn shop sceene where he asks for a box of 147 F-M-J & then does not have the money to pay for the gun & ammo so she say's just take the gun and 1/2 a box of ammo until you get the money.

Yeah, I just finished a Faye Kellerman book, "Serpent's Tooth", I believe it was. My wife passed it to me. She starts out talking about how the killer used a double action pistol automatic pistol. But the detectives figured there were too many rounds. No one could fire that many in such a short time even from a "double automatic". This line of crap continues throughout the entire book.

Know what? I know it's fiction. I know a lot of folks have no gun knowlege. But when an author writes this kind of crap just because they know that most of their audience won't know the difference, well that is just plain laziness and poor workmanship. That author hasn't done their research, indeed they haven't done their job, and I won't read any more of their stuff.
