"The funnest 9mm I have is a SA EMP 3" 1911 9+1 SAO 9mm..

This little gem is a tack driver and his rock solid dependable..

It always draws attention at the range..

My second most fun gun to shoot is my Witness Match. Mine's in 10mm, but it's available in 9mm. Cost is around $500. Great trigger, scary accurate, light recoil.

My most fun gun in 9mm to shoot is my Max-11, but I think it's a bit out of your price range

I agree with the posters about the CZ 75 series being fun. The PCR would be a great choice for a compact, and the SP-01 for full size. If you want a compact with an accessory rail, the P-01 is the ticket. There are other variants of the CZ 75 line, as well.

Best part is, you can choose a steel, alloy, or plastic frame - depending on which model you want. I'm a metal guy, so I have the alloy-framed P-01.

Beretta 92FS (USA or Italian made).

Have over 3500 rounds through mine in just over a year. Great trigger, very accurate, not a single malfuntion of any kind. Extra mags are cheap, loves CLP.

They aren't very expensive, and the Police Specials are especially good values (pistol plus 3 mags for around 500 bucks).

Enjoy whatever you get, and be safe.

Fun 9's

And the beat goes on......lol..... Hi, I must say I have fun shooting all my 9's ( Springfield EMP, Sig P239, HKP7M8 and a HKP7). I chose carefully when I picked these 9mm pistols and I'm extremely happy with the choices I made. That being said.....I must say the two little HK squeeze cockers are very special pistols in so many ways. No other gun has ever fit so naturally in my hand as either of these have. They are very accurate, reliable, excellent for ccw carry, one of the safest autoloaders ever designed and depending on the way you look at it....my wife enjoys shooting it because it shoots so soft for a 9mm.
Downside is everytime you go to the range everyone wants to take a look at the little beauty and take a few shots.;)
I want to thank you for the tip on the P1. That looks like a very interesting gun. I talked to Dan and will probably get one of those. What the heck you got to lose for $299? If it turns out to be a positive buy I owe you a "thanks for the heads-up and all the fun we'll have shooting it". Anyone out there bought one of these? Feedbace/reaction.....
Hope this helps,
JimK

The most fun you can have in 9mm is going to a range and renting a full auto MP5. Other than that I vote for a Springfield Armory 1911, 5 inch 9mm. It's reliable, accurate and if recoil is an issue at all, it won't be with this.

After a sig most things are a disappointment

Two important points
1. If you are already familiar with sig controls and you want a smaller gun for ccw carry the thing that is the closest to what you already Know ( clearing a jam on a 1911, cz, or walter is not exactly the same as a sig) muscle memory is important and is mostly what you rely on in a tactical setting. Heaven forbid it were to happen.:what:
2. watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTzI2xQsZAo then buy the p239 in 9mm for your ccw

One good fun 9mm thats in decent supply and is pretty cheap are the crop of S&W 9mms... I found a 908 for about 299.99 on gunbroker and it was in 98% easy with 5 mags. Also the 659s, when you can come across them are a good run for the money and mags are pretty plentiful. As far as a little bigger, the Kel-Tec Sub 2000s are a BLAST... and if you get the Glock model that takes the glock mags then all the better?

My $0.02

I have

1) CZ vz.82, great, fun, fun, great, cheap, great, fun. Also, I LIKE it. Least expensive of my weapons. The Mak ammo (from Monarch) is loud, smokey and puts funny holes on the paper. I think they tumble, while the Hornady JHP's just put round holes.

2) Ruger P95, good, accurate, cheap. First NEW gun I've owned (so far).

3) S&W 915, a very nice pistol. I got it first, used but very clean. Also good, accurate, cheap.

Evidently, I'm easy to please, 'coz I like them all, but I have less than $800 tied up in all three.
