Ahhhh! Thank you for posting in the general forum! :D

Ruger is still making a New Model Blackhawk Convertible that gets you .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and 9mm. A casual search of the forum suggests you won't get stellar accuracy from the 9mm, but your OP does say "fun."

There are also some double action revolvers out there which are chambered and bored specifically for the 9mm and 9mm Rimmed that are worth looking at.

One more note about the CZ 75B & Variants

The CZ 75D PCR Compact I mentioned has a decocker - any variant with the D suffix is a decocker in the CZ line. The 75B has, instead of a decocker, a thumb safety so you can choose how you carry it for the first
shot, DA with the hammer down, or Condition One Thumb Safety on, aka
Cocked and locked and this would satisfy your criteria for something different than your P226.

The CZ 75 Compact in 9MMx19 has similiar controls as the 75B with the
thumb safety and is the same size as the PCR but the Compact has a
steel frame so it's a bit above 30 oz. in weight.

I paid $509 for my 75B which may be a little high
actually, but I wanted to give my Dealer/Smith a little
profit as I've bought 5 other pistls elsewhere and just
used him as the transfer FFL.

Well, I own one handgun but did my research when purchasing it. This meant holding other guns, studying review for months, etc.

For a fun, not too large, and relatively affordable 9mm pistol, I highly suggest a CZ 75 P-01. Check it out if you can. It's an incredible piece.

I wholeheartedly agree with this endorsement. The P-01 is a fantastic gun and is priced very reasonably. I liked my first P-01 so much I bought a second just for a spare :)

3 very different guns. I have a P1, a bersa 380cc so I guess the SIG would be my choice. Actually of the 3 as an all around gun the SIG P6 surplus guns are a steal. Been tempted by them.

gee

and nobody even mentioned the kahr cw9 or k9. kinda hurts my feelings:banghead::banghead:

cz75 SP-01

Big gun, shoots like a dream, wonderfully shaped grip that works even for smaller hands. If I buy another 9mm, that'll be the one.

I agree, Im really enjoying my PM9, which makes a great CCW piece. For the price, Im seriously considering the CW9 as a truck gun.

But I also find my XD9 a "fun" gun to shot also. So I vote other. Also no experience with the other choices.

M& P9

I sure love to shoot my M & P 9 after getting it back from Bowie tactical. what a great shooting gun it is now. The best action job that I have even gotten. Love the gun, now if it was only the size and weight of my pm9:neener::neener:

If funds are a little tight, the CZ 82 is a great little pistol. Well made, shoots accurately, although the 9X18 is down a little on power compared to the Parabellum. For paper punching and general fooling around it is a fine choice.

Most fun? Of the 4 types of 9mm I own (CZ, Glock, SIG, HiPower) plus several models of some makes, the SIG P239 in 9mm is hands down the most fun to shoot. Very mild recoil. Super accurate. Fun. Fun. Fun.

I love my M&P9c and think it's actually a lot of fun to shoot but of the ones you posted, I'd go with the Bersa Thunder. Have fun!

Ruger "P" series.

They are rugged, reliable, and accurate. They've got decent ergonomics, and can generally be found quite cheaply compared to other Makes.

If you like Sigs get the SIG Pro SP2022.

sp2022large.jpg

It is one of the most under rated Sigs ever made. It was simply never embraced by the US market. Too many polymers already and Sig fans traditionally like metal guns.

It has one of the best triggers on a Sig. It is not made here in the US. It is an all German gun made in Germany. The DA is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!

You can get them now with nightsites, both back straps and 2 mags for $500. I would pay the little extra over $450 and get the nights and the two backstraps.
