He made suicidal comments while holding tot, officers say.

A man who allegedly made suicidal comments while holding a .22-caliber rifle and his baby daughter surrendered after an almost three-hour standoff with police yesterday.
Hector Lopez, 20, and his 6-month-old daughter were in an apartment in the 900 block of South Fourth Avenue before he fled with her to a storage trailer south of the property, said Sgt. Marco Borboa, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Police arrived at 4:09 p.m. The SWAT team and hostage negotiators kept talking to Lopez until he came out without incident at 6:50 p.m., he said.

Lopez also had a small amount of marijuana and a knife, police said.

Surrounding apartments and houses were evacuated, Borboa said. He did not know the number of people who left.

The baby was turned over to her mother, he said.

Lopez had been staying in the apartment on and off, Borboa said.

He was charged with endangerment of a child, Borboa said.

This jackass may have been a father by biological standards, but that's it! :cuss:

I wonder which Hallmark card the kid will pick out for "Daddy" on Father's Day?

Just a simple floral arrangement on the grave would be my choice. :fire:

Before anyone flames me for this sentiment let me say...
I have seen almost this same thing happen up close, and in person!

Mylar..

Diamonds are forever, but mylar comes pretty darn close.. A mylar balloon never deflates if sealed properly..

Child endangerment is such and understatement..:barf:
