Marlin 1894 reintroduced…

Could do without the barrel band carbine type forend. Don’t know why someone needed that change. Maybe “classic” has something to do with it. I guess not a huge deal.

1:20 6 groove rifling though which is something we all wanted.

Other than that I’m excited for the SS version.

How blasphemous would it be if I buy a Ruglin 1894 44mag to get the faster twist, then tear the barrel off of one of my old slow twist JM 1894’s so I can convert it to 357/44 B&D?

I’ve been planning to buy a new 1894SS when it comes out and convert that, but for the faster twist, I might prefer keeping a Ruglin intact and modifying my old JM - she’s out of warranty support anyway.

DO IT!, you're not getting any younger and the experience of making "IT" yours is (ugh) priceless.

Me, holding out for maybe a Ruger 1894 in 45 Colt. who knows if it will happen.

Looks great. The video on that web page says the .357/.38 is coming soon. :cool:

The video on that page also shows an AR height scope mount on that 1894 .44 lever gun. You'd think Marlin/Ruger could have put forth a little effort to present that gun in the video with a proper scope mount.

Nuthin like putting a huge scope .. setting high .. on a compact 44mag carbine

:rofl::rofl:

If I have said it once I have said it a thousand times, it should be a crime against humanity to put a scope on a lever rifle. Perhaps a hate crime.

I've had multiple JMs in .44 and .357 and parted with them all because I never really took to lever actions. Nevertheless, I still think they look very cool and a new one is somewhat tempting. I'd probably opt for a .44 and load it with .44 specials.
