Here is the rimfire match for May, hope ya'all have fun!

For rimfires:
1) Print out THIS TARGET (.PDF file)
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/TPHaller/50ft_Target_865.pdf
2) Shoot 5 shots at 30 feet (10 yards) with the rimfire pistol of your choice and in the style of your choice.
3) Post your results along with a description of the pistol and style.

For centerfires:
1) Print out THIS TARGET (.PDF file)
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/TPHaller/50ft_Target_865.pdf
2) Shoot 5 shots at 30 feet (10 yards) with the centerfire pistol of your choice and in the style of your choice.
3) Post your results along with a description of the pistol and style.

For both centerfire and rimfire, include this info in your entry:
Caliber
Make/ Model of Gun
Position
Conditions (especially indoor/ outdoor)
Bullet Weight
Factory or Handload Ammo

The idea is that we can have a real comparison of skill under relatively consistant circumstances.
Scopes will have a seperate catagory than irons.

Caliber - .38 S & W
Make/ Model of Gun - Smith & Wesson, 4th Model, 'DA'
Position - Standing, 10 long paces from Target
Conditions (especially indoor/ outdoor) - Outdoor, windy
Bullet Weight - 146 grn
Factory or Handload Ammo - Factory 'Remington' RNL

First time firing this Revolver, so, did three test shots on a sheet of paper first, to see where they'd go. Had to aim about 6 inches below Target center, and to the right...but still printed to the left mostly.

Did 5 Rounds two Handed, Double Action...and circled these in Pen.

Did 5 Rounds one Handed.

Rate of fire for both, about one shot per second or less.

Caliber - - - .38 S & W Special
Make/ Model of Gun - - - Model of 1905, Military & Police
Position - - - Standing, 10 long paces from Target
Conditions (especially indoor/ outdoor) - - - Outdoor, windy
Bullet Weight - - - 148 grn Wadcutters
Factory or Handload Ammo - - - Factory 'Winchester' Box, but has some various old Factory mixed-headsamp C'tgs too...

Second time firing this Revolver, having done 12 rounds when I got it last November. I recalled it to print where it's pointed at 30 feet...so...

Did 5 Rounds two Handed, Double Action...and circled these in Pen.

Did 5 Rounds one Handed.

Rate of fire for both strings, about one shot per second or less.

Either I was inately more comfortable with this one, or, starting to get warmed up.

I have not shot enough in the last 20 years to amount to two Boxes of ammo, even if I count my two CCW Range qualifications...so, felt real good to be out at the Shooting Range today, and play with these a little.

Okay, I'm game!

I fired these first thing this morning. I used 6 rounds instead of 5. These were the first cylinder fulls out of each gun, no warming up. I shot the .38s and then the .22s. Two-handed, standing, double-action.

Forgot: Conditions; outdoor, windy, mostly sunny.

Bullet weight on the .22s is 40gr, and they are solids. That's CCI Standard Velocity .22LR. The .38s were reloads using 158gr LRNFP, 231 and CCI Small pistol primers.

im gonna give this a try as well as your rimfire rifle match.

ima prolly get creamed in the center fire class with my short little kimber but i might can really do some good with my little plain jane browning buckmark.

will post them tuesday the 12th.

My worst shot is usually the first. I think it is a trigger thing going on with the different guns that I have. Nice shotting anyway!

Went to the range today with my K-22 22LR revolver and shot 1- and 2-handed, double and single action (standing unsupported). Ammo was Federal 717 .22LR. I was consistent - consistently missing the 5th X :cuss:

#1: 2-handed, double action:

#2: 1-handed, double action:

#3: 1-handed, single action (bullseye style):

I had problems down loading the tgt so hear is one of mine. the spot is a pice of tape used for IDPA tgts to cover up the bullet holes.
the distance is 50 yards out side.
7-30 waters contender G2 burris 2x7 scope and a bullberry barrel
factry ammo 120grn flat pt(federal premium)
i pulled one to the left about 4 in
This is a new gun to me and im trying to learn to shoot it.

flipajig--some good shooting! Do you want me to see if i can get the PDF file into a pic, so you can just print that?

1858rem--lets see it. :D

I wasn't going to even post these but I figured it would give you other folks an idea of what they beat!

.22LR
Ruger NM Single Six 5 1/2" barrel, bought new in April, only 200 rounds through it before this.
Standing, Right hand only
Indoor
Federal 810 "Game Shok" 40 grain copper coated solid

I have shot better, maybe next month will show that. Maybe it was the ammo? My first 200 rounds through it were Winchester Wildcats, which actually seemed more consistent than the Federal 810.

I bought a Single Six awhile back and wasn't impressed with my offhand shooting with run of the mill 22LR stuff. About 2 weeks ago I tried some 22 Win Mags (vmax) with the other cylinder and the groups closed up alot. I was only shooting 30ft outdoors compared to the indoor 50ft 22 LR's but the difference was very respectable. The 22LR's looked like a shotgun pattern. If I hadn't of blasted the target up with 38's I would have submitted it.

If yours if capable, try some Win Mags through it.

It's not the gun!

I don't think it's the gun, but the combination of me and perhaps the ammo.

Here is a target I shot at five yards the first time out with it (two handed, and I might have been leaning against a wall), these are shots 11 though 20, using Winchester Wildcats.

I do want to try magnums with it after another couple hundred rounds.

This is my tgt from my TC contender off a rest at 50 yards. 22 LR
4 power scope
winchester super X ammo.
First day at the range.
Id like to see what it could do with match grade ammo.

Ok, here are my pics...

They are shot at just under 30ft more like 27' standing with my back leaning on a post. This is after a Box of ammo each to warm up...

For #1 I shot 8rds per target, 2 targets, For #2 and #3 I shot 5rds/target at 2 targets with each gun, and kept the best target. I took my time, and was going for accuracy NOT speed. It was maby 30sec-1min a shot

Wanna know something funny... I bought these guns about a year apart... just liked them or had shot one in the past... Turns out thet all 3 of my pistols are Polygonal Rifling I dident even know this when I got them...

for sale? my sights that I have on it are way off, I was sniping enemy propane tanks at 12 to 15 yards and I could hardly hit them. I also have a hipower that was kicking the crap out of the tanks, so its not the shot!
