MI GOP Leader Wants to BAN Ron Paul from Debates

Rush Limbaugh is losing his way with real conservative values I think; all he does now is tote the GOP line.

When people attacked Albert Gonzales, Limbaugh attacked those people. What's so conservative about Gonzales?

I think Rush Limbaugh is a total tool.

Then again, so is Mr. Paul.

To hear Mr. Paul on the topic, he actually believes what OBL or any other Islamic extremist has to say on why they want to lock horns with the United States.

That's naivete personified. OBL can blather on to his harem of goats about how if we were more like Switzerland he wouldn't bother, but he'd be lying to himself and his flock.

We're like Everest was to George Mallory. OBL and his ilk take us on not merely because we're overseas and they don't like it, but because we are the mountain that stands out most prominently to be conquered. No one waxes poetic about taking on the challenge presented by Mt. Sunflower in Kansas. Switzerland isn't the center of the Western universe either.

Who would be Mr. Paul's Secretary of State, Cindy Sheehan?

At least with Dr. Paul, we don't have to worry about him "repaying favors" by giving out positions in government. We know that WHOEVER Dr. Paul would choose, it would be the best person he knows of for the job.

Given his limited grasp of geopolitics, I'm sure the list would be quite unimpressive.

You mean, it's naive to believe that a criminal has a motive? It's more realistic to believe that his actions are completely unexplainable, because he and his fellow hairy Arabs are rabid animals, striking at random?

Oh, that's right. They "hate us for our freedom." Except that doesn't explain why he didn't launch similar attacks against Switzerland, Luxembourg or Hong Kong, which are at least as free as the US...

Sorta like we invaded Iraq "to liberate the poor slobs from being ruled by a bad man." Except that doesn't explain why we never invaded any of the dozens of other repressive regimes...

budney,

+10

I have grown so nauseous of the modern Repukelican party that I am ashamed I once was a registered 'R.'

Paul sure is rocking their self-serving and authoritarian little boats, ain't he?

A big +1.

The fact is that even the 9/11 reports confirmed this.

I signed the petition and I really like Ron Paul, but I believe he has zero chance of winning the Presidency and I'll tell you why. First off, I don't think the American people are ready for what he has to say. I think he's hitting people with too much too soon and it doesn't boil down to soundbites without sounding kooky. Second, he lacks the charisma he needs to carry it off. In short, I think he's the wrong guy with the right message presented in the wrong way at the right time. The best we can hope for is that he will raise ideas and issues that will influence the election and make people think.

You guys amuse me to no end.

Criminals aren't to be believed in any other context, unless and until they explicitly and freely mention why they do what they do?

Then their credibility is ironclad?

What a howler.

Pray tell what was America doing to any Islamist whackadoo back 1784, you know, the year after the Constitution was adopted, and long before William McKinley turned us down the road to being an international player by chewing up Hawaii, the Spanish Empire, and some of the Boxers?

Yes Noam Chomsky is an idiot, but not Mr. Paul.

Let me know when Switzerland bombs middle eastern satellite dishes with Baywatch, corroding the influence of various mullahs, muftis, and other assorted clerics via graven images of jiggling silicone implants willya?

They might hate us for being friendly with the Saudis, propping up Israel, backing the Shah, blah, blah, blah, AND they hate us for being the harbinger of Western Civilization. Their hatred of us is not a simplistic single source wellspring.

The Sword and Shield of the free world tends to get the thankless task of getting bloodied and bashed. The Swiss Army knife stays safely in the pocket as the nice, but non-factor, that it is.

The Swiss aren't attacked because they are stay at home neutrals, they aren't attacked because they are comfortable freeloaders off of the more positive efforts of others.

The MI GOP is retarded. The fastest way to make Ron Paul irrelevant is to let him riff on foreign policy in front of national audiences.

Yeah, that worked a couple nights ago, didn't it? Har har.

His stock is skyrocketing. Rightfully so.

The rightwing grassroots is finally waking up, and we now have a real champion to voice our outrage.

Dr. Paul may not be electable. But irrelevant? Yeah right.

Boats, you make me laugh sir. That was a mind bending read. "The Swiss are freeloaders", "the sword and shield of the free world"

LMAO!

Exactly Jeff! I only wish Ron Paul was ten years younger. The only vote I consider "thrown away" (as they say) is for one of the media appointed frontrunners, McCain, the SlickWilly clone and Guiliani

I signed!

Loved that he almost won the text message vote that FOX ran during the debate. One percentage behind the Slick Willy clone and well ahead of everyone else at 26%. He was running 30% at the beginning of the poll ahead of everyone else! Remember his detractors were trying to claim that the only reason he won the MSNBC debate poll was because only people on the internet like him! LOL!

The number of people paying attention to the 2008 race right now is infintesimally small.

Besides, the DUmmies having been crowing about stuffing the online surveys for Paul too.:scrutiny:

Nutters tend to laugh at reality when living in their own fantasy world. Your amusement is not unexpected.;)

One to talk.
Read a little, get some facts.
Start here, do a google search of Operation Ajax. Here is a hint, It is our government, doing bad things, and really pi** ING OFF some people in that part of the world.

6445 Signatures Total

That many signatures in so little time...hmm he might have a chance after all.

I just noticed that the Michigan GOP removed their phone number from their website. They must be getting pounded pretty bad. Saul Anuzis's voicemail box is currencly full. He can be reached at 517-487-5413. I will try again tomorrow and the next day and the next day until they change their mind.

Everybody that knows Ron is our only hope...make the call...it will make the difference. I know you don't want to, but your call will make the difference. You don't have to say anything specail for your opinion to count.

Read your own writing. . .

Emphasis supplied.

I am not contending that SOME people in that part of the world AREN'T pissed off over our foreign policy.

I am pointing out that such contentions are BUT ONE FACET of the overall problem.

It is naive in the extreme to think that if we'd just pack it in, throw Israel to the crocodile, and sit back and watch, that our problems with Islamic extremists would be over.

Check that. It's downright pollyannaish.

I'm glad you're in support of having Ron Paul in the national debates. Boats, have you called the MI GOP's office to express your support? Hvae you called them? Faxed? Written a letter, perhaps. No? Why not?

Gee, I think it's quite clear myself that Mr. Paul should be allowed to talk his fool head off in front of whomever will stand to listen.

I think you guys got your point across already by swamping the MI GOP into silence.

If the MI GOP reiterates its original position, I'll be more than happy to dogpile them in the second wave.
