Does anyone know if MI is an open carry state? And where would I find a good resource for the MI firearms laws?
Source on this? Because I have not read anything in Michigan law that reads this way, and I have OC'd in just about every one of the places you just mentioned and got not as much as a second look. It's legal to open carry in a bar, pub or tavern, but not Wal-Mart?You must also have a CPL to carry in any place with a liquor license, like package stores, stop-n-robs and stores like wally world that sell beer & wine.
But the gas station, liquor store, grocery store, etc are not prohibited, and one can OC without a permit in any one of those locations.
You must also have a CPL to carry in any place with a liquor license, like package stores, stop-n-robs and stores like wally world that sell beer & wine.
Without a CPL, you cannot carry in or on the premises of any place licensed by the liquor control board.
28.425o Premises on which carrying concealed weapon or portable device that uses electro-muscular disruption technology prohibited; “premises” defined; exceptions to subsections (1) and (2); violation; penalties.
(d) A bar or tavern licensed under the Michigan liquor control code of 1998, 1998 PA 58, MCL 436.1101 to 436.2303, where the primary source of income of the business is the sale of alcoholic liquor by the glass and consumed on the premises. This subdivision does not apply to an owner or employee of the business.
You go into Wally World OCing without a CPL, and some cop is feeling froggy, and you'll be making a trip to jail.
