Is there any such pistol? I couldn't find one, but I told my buddy I'd ask for him. He's looking for a SIG in .45ACP that's a mid-size and has 10 (or more) rounds in the magazine.

Now, to go the extra mile for him, can anyone recommend a gun similar to what he's looking for? He does NOT want DAO. DA/SA is ok, as is SAO.

Depends what you mean by mid-sized

Taurus Millennium Pro 145
EAA Witness .45
Beretta PX4 Storm .45

.45 has a fat case so is hard to fit a lot of ammo into a compact sized grip, and most of the newer compact pistols tend to be DAO polymer pistols. If he dose not mind carrying 8+1 he could always get a Sig 220 Carry SAO.

You won't really find any such size of gun in the SIG line. The only way to get 10 rounds is with an extended magazine. Para-Ordnance ought to have something in that size and capacity, in SAO form. (They also have "LDA" triggers, but this is a DAO.) Caveat emptor, as my personal experience with this brand was very poor, albeit a long time ago.

10+ is tough for a midsize. The Ruger P345 is what I would consider a midsize but it only holds 8 rounds. Of course, in .45 you can't go wrong with one of the many variants of the classic 1911.

XD45 Compact?

The grip is shortened and it has a capacity of 10+1, but with the 4" barrel, I'm not sure i'd call it "compact".

The Glock 30 is compact and holds 10+1 though.

Too bad he doesn't want DAO: Try Glock 30SF. ;)

P.S. you can always [easily] lighten the trigger pull on Glocks with aftermarket parts, if you want.

Charles Daly M5?

Hey everyone, sorry for not responding before now. I never got an email message saying there were replies! Thanks for all the help, though. My friend was VERY excited for me to give him all these suggestions.

My buddy decided on getting a Para P13 for his main concealed carry piece and a Para Warthog for a backup. He hasn't purchased them yet, though. I (and he) am curious, though. Does anyone know if the Warthog will accept the P13 magazines (albeit by sticking out of the magazine well a bit)?

If he can't find somewhere local when he gets home (we're both deployed) to purchase them, his "runner up" manufacturer choice was Charles Daly.
