I've ordered a number of times from Midway and have been amazed at the speed of their shipping. I did notice on my last order that they used the plastic envelope. This the first time they've done it and the contents were not damaged, but I was a little surprised at the new way of packaging. No other company except my mail-order drug company uses that kind of packaging.

I've been doing business with Midway for a lot of years and have spent a hell of a lot of money with them. They have typically been very good but in the last couple years, I have had several issues with their packaging. Most recently, the shipping monkeys are placing single 50rd boxes of .22LR ammo loose into oversized boxes with just a few airbags. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that they will bust open and spill their contents, with many getting lost. Yes, they are quick to replace them and have done so a couple times but the replacements are just as poorly packaged. It's just plain stupid and in my last phone call I was assured that the issue would be resolved. We'll see.

Part of the order process for Midway is choosing the shipping method from a drop-down menu. The cheapest is always USPS First Class Mail, which means a padded envelope. For larger items and fragile items, they don't usually offer that as an option. I think someone just screwed up on the coding when they put that product into the database.

I specified Postal Service Priority Mail thinking they would ship them in the priority mail's, strong, heavy box...was I ever wrong!!!!!

Then I guess the screw-up was in the shipping dep't, not the website dep't.

Next time you can go to Graf & Son or Weidners, maybe they will ship to suit you

No they won't. You can't ship what you don't have. I got so tired of going to Graf & Son's website and finding EVERYTHING out of stock, I don't even bother anymore. I just order from Midway. Never had a problem. If I did, as long as they fixed it, I don't see what the big deal would be. They're people. They make mistakes sometimes.

Usually I get a small item packed in a box five times the size of the item itself. But the shipping costs are not the lowest but their service is usually outstanding. Brownell's has been just as good except they offer a small item rate where they use durable envelopes.

I have had really good luck with Midway. Sometimes they are high on shipping, but that is my only complaint. I just order it from somewhere else if I can get it cheaper.

Received the replacement mold today...shipped in an identical plastic Tyvek bag...fortunately the mold survived!
I'll stick with my original comment..."idiots" !!! :banghead:

I've never had a problem with Midway, but I guess anything can happen. I guess from now on I'll just ask for a box, thats all.

I would like to order from Graf & Son but except for one order they never have what I want to order, everything is out of stock. They sent me the very nice print catalog but what use is it if everything is on back order. The one time I ordered I was happy with the price and service but it is not the way to run a business with 70% of your items not in stock.

Ive had good luck with midway the mistakes have been my fault in inputting information or using the wrong address for the method. I dont do much business with them lately due to they were and prob still are out of so many things that i need when i need it and ive found other scources. I still use them time to time. There shipping has always been fast. I bought a AR mount one time from Cheaper then dirt and they shipped in a box you coulda fit a 100 of em in and charged almost 9 bucks shipping.... Prob my worst order experience in the shipping dept.
