Just saw this story on the Keep And Bear Arms website:

FL: FBI Van Burglarized; SWAT Rifles, Ammo Taken

"Four sniper rifles, scopes and ammunition were stolen from an FBI SWAT van parked outside a Baymeadows Road hotel before dawn Sunday."

"The FBI said the guns belonged to a team from Atlanta in Jacksonville to provide extra security for the Super Bowl."

"A spokesman for the FBI said officials are concerned these weapons are out on the street and are doing everything possible to try and find whoever took them."

"Four high-powered rifles with scopes and 80 rounds of 308 ammunition was taken from the unmarked, locked van parked outside the Holiday Inn at Baymeadows and Interstate 95. An agent parked the van at 3:45 a.m. and discovered the padlock cut and van burglarized a few hours later." ...

Here is the link to the full story:

Out tax dollars at work, boys-n-girls.

Not mentioned in the story, but $10 vs. 2 dozen do-nuts says the van had US Gov plates on it.

Hey, FIBBYS, here's a clue for you...DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN A CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT AT A HOTEL YOU MIGHT WANT THE NEXT DAY.

In FL they might even be piggy hunter tools!!

I can see some lowlife POS saying to his friend. "damn boy you sure do look tactical now"

""A spokesman for the FBI said officials are concerned these weapons are out on the street and are doing everything possible to try and find whoever took them.""

I wonder if they're concerned about 100 million deer rifles being "out on the street"? Rhetorical question. Of course they are. :)

I just get tired of this style of phrasing. The concern should be that the rifles and four boxes of ammo were stolen. Period. These particular rifles are of no more danger to anybody than any hunting rifle...

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye out. Don't want to get a flat tire or break an axle.

Note that this comes

at a time when New Jersey is shutting down a dealer who, in the course of 4,500 gun sales over the years, cannot find paperwork for 3 - THREE - guns. That's .000666 % of total sales.

NONE of the 3 were alleged to have been illegally sold, recovered from crime scenes or reported stolen; the dealer just can't find 4473s or bound book entries for them. Some crisis.....

But hey; thank God the Feds are making the streets safe for football fans. :barf:

Too bad there is not a law in Fl. that requires firearms to be safely locked away. Not that it would apply to these guys.

Safe!!!............?????????

BUT, BUT, I DID have 'em locked away, boss, i locked 'em up inna VAN!!!! who'da thunk sumbodie'd wanna git in th' VAN, JUS' BECUZZITT'S INNA HOTEL PARKIN'LOT?????? and these guys AREN'T HIRED unless they got a COLLEGE EDGACATION????? $hittums, a REDNECK(no offense, i'm using it in the NON-perjorative sense) could have told 'em, "hey, uuhhh, if you wanta keep them rifles, take 'em ta bed w'ya; or, at least take 'em up to yer room." oh, yeah, "we're SNIPERS!!!!! shi'man we're IN, we made it, an' get tah see duh BOWL, too!!! work, hunh???? tell ME".

A story like this would have knocked J. Edgar right out of his high heels. :neener:
