Mine's the Sphinx SDP Compact Kryptonight Edition. Coincidentally this looks to be a very high-performance gun, but this thread has nothing to do with that. It's all about looks. What's yours?

For automatic pistols, the Browning Hi-Power is the most beautiful to me.

For autoloading rifles, the M14 is hard to beat aesthetically, though I know the AR platform is functionally superior.

I think most revolvers are aesthetically pleasing.

Designed by the Italian designer Guigliaro, the Beretta 9000s was like a work of art. Too bad it was a crappy gun.

Soured me on Berettas and .40 cal.

To me, it's this:

Aside from the graceful lines of the piece and its utility, there are many layers of artistry from blacksmithing and forging to woodworking and engraving. Everything about a fine custom long rifle is art. Each piece speaks of the life lead by the maker, and his commitment to the craft. It is a marvel of technology yet still has a foot in the stone age arts. No modern industrial work can compare IMHO.

Nothing is prettier than a fine old flintlock longrifle with a well done, highly figured stock.

Any of the SVI Infinity 1911's. Freaking gorgeous, particularly the ones with the colored grips.

Of all those made, I'd never be able to choose. I'm surprised the 1911 hasn't been mentioned in 13 responses. It would, for me, be dang near the top, even though I still do not yet own one.

Competitors would include the 1851 Colt Navy, the aforementioned Sharps rifle, and the M-16A1.

The Colt Diamondbacks in stainless also get the nod from me. The Pythons never really grew on me.

Of those firearms I currently own, the Ruger Police Service Six is quite a handsome piece.

Hmm Hi power....CZ-75, S&W 39, Colt Woodsman, Farqueson falling block, M14, Cooper bolt actions, Remington 1100, shotguns from the likes of H&H, Purdey, Merkel, Krieghoff

The US Harpers Ferry...

...1803 Rifle is usually considered the most beautiful military gun.

I've always been pretty smitten with most of the older Winchester models, and Colt Single actions. Sharps and traditional style Hawkens also are pretty nice to me.

I like this particular late model Winchester 92 pretty well.

1911, Colt SAA, K-frame S&W
The Ruger and Buckmark .22's are also ergonomically pretty.

Overall though, I'd say any high class $25K+ SxS shotgun is gorgeous. I really think those are hard to beat.

Winchester 94 carbine.
Remington 58 New model Army
Merkel 147-S side by side shotgun

my tupence
