Silvanus:

Nice S&W 19! That is what my BIL used as his duty weapon as an LEO. It is the first handgun I ever fired. A lot of great memories just came back with that picture. Thanks!!!

Oh, wow. I never had a clue until this thread that the Mateba Autorevolver was a real weapon!
It was featured in the futuristic anime movie Ghost in the Shell, carrier by one of the police characters who was teased more than once about carrying an "outdated" sidearm.

I really do learn something new here every day.

Filigree, engraving, etc. Don't excite me. What excites me is a classic design that stands the test of time. Frankly the Thompson Sub-Machine Gun, The Garand, and the M1911 have always been my "most beautiful." :)

Some of the previous entries here could be top contenders for most garish/gaudy/ostentatious.

And just about anything from the first generation of military bolt-action cartridge rifles. They have a sort of elegance to them that I just find appealing.

The two most beautiful guns I know of.

Why?

Because they go bang every single time, and that's the most beautiful thing to me with guns.

Sorry about that, retgarr, I lost a line of text there somehow. They are both Gyrojets, the carbine on top and rifle underneath.

46 posts and not a SINGLE Glock yet? I know this board is full of guys who assume glock is the answer to all questions. Here are my three favorites.

S&W 500ES

SW500es.jpg

S&W M&P .40- Its beautiful to me because its MINE and it was my first gun, plus it looks dang good.

AK-47

Done a lot of good and evil over the years and still looks good.

While I agree with a few of the posts in here, to some of you, this firearm should fit right in.:barf:

(I'd add my garands to the thread, but nugilum's is much prettier than mine.)

BTW...Hey Hank, can you make that picture a little bit bigger, I can't quite see it.

The Smith and Wesson N-Frame, with a 5" bbl, blued and Ivory gripped.

Just something about those big guns that makes them perfection, IMHO.

Doc2005, I'm glad you're enjoying my pictures :) This model 19 was previously my uncle's, but he rarely ever shot it, so he gave it to me for my 18th birthday.

Sorry, I forgot to post mine. And I actually think they look pretty good. Not "beautiful" like a classic, blued pistol, but not bad either.
