Most reliable autoloader?

I have over 14k rounds through my Sig P250, most of my personal handguns are Sig's and I have not had an issue with any of them, you know what my vote will be.....

The most reliable pistol in my collection is a Bersa Thunder 9 HC. The Bersa has over 5K through it. A couple of summers ago I cleaned and lubed the pistol and then fired 1K rnds with no additional cleaning or lube. I had one rnd that failed to feed fully, a push on the back of the slide fully seated the round.
The Bersa is my most reliable because it is the one I have the most rounds through. Most of my other pistols have been 100% reliable but with a lower round count.

My wife cannt limpwrist my G37 either.

Amazing how a pistol functions when it is gripped proper.......

H&K P30, pistol-training.com, 91,000 rnds fired in like 6 months, 7 stoppages. Nuff said. HK45, 20,000 rnds fired in like 3-4 months, 0, yeah ZERO stoppages and 10,000 ROUNDS between cleaning ! NUFF said !

What about 1911's? I hear they're pretty reliable.

A real 1911, as in a mil spec 1911 will run like any Glock ever made. The problem with 1911s is the majority of them are over priced out of spec overly pretty pieces of eye candy.

IMHO

Glocks are the hands down winner when it comes to out of the box dependability. It is merely my opinion of course, but that is what you asked for, and all that anyone can offer. There are lots of great gun out there though.

Glocks. Run them out of the box, dry, dirty, clean, after being frozen, or underwater. Easiest gun to shoot in my hands.

You can do the same thing with a Sig, Smith, Taurus, HK, or any other modern service grade autoloader.

The only thing remarkable about glocks is their total absence of manual safety features, and their horrible trigger pull.

Don't believe the hype.

You take that back right now!! ;)

I've seen many glocks with many problems... which could probably be bad maintainance... but I've never seen a mil-spec 1911 with a problem, no matter the maintenance.

Just a note, I've seen tons of glocks, but for the purpose of this thread I strongly disagree.

example: What happens if you feed a shell with a weakened casing into a glock or 1911?

Thats it, you are no longer my friend!!

I like Glocks because I always thought the trigger was awesome!! I still do. But like you said. Don't believe the hype. I like them because they work for me. Alot of ninjas get them in the 40 caliber because the FBI ninjas bought the hype back in 1990.... Now look where things are. The only Glock I have is in an oddball caliber only Glock makes, but I love it and thats all that matters so nah!!!

Both my G27 and my 226 have stovepiped, once, each. Meanwhile, my tokarev, cz-82, and lcp have never missed a beat, and that tokarev probably has more rounds through it than all my other autoloaders combined.

everybody's experience varies.

Valorious the Guy who shot himself, was he black?
You said he blamed it on a black guy, lol

The only way i'd want to own a glock (again) is if it was a G19 with an aftermarket manual safety and a really good, light trigger job.

Such a weapon would, IMO, be much better than the "NY" trigger no safety band-aid that most US cops and civvies use.

But i would still be left with the simple truth, that at the end of the day, i don't like the pistols ergonomics(a personal preference, obviously), and i think they are uglier than sin.

Anyway, i still like you Boris, even if you're drunk on gLocKAiD. :D

White guy.

"A Philadelphia police sergeant who said he was shot last month by an unidentified black man in the city's Overbrook section actually fabricated the entire story and (had actually) shot himself, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said this morning. Sgt. Robert Ralston, a 21-year veteran of the department, admitted to homicide detectives early this morning that his previously reported story was false.

Ramsey called the incident "a terrible and embarrassing chapter in our history." Asked why Ralston concocted the tale and injured himself, Ramsey said he didn't know."

The Philadelphia PD uses Glocks.

I don't much care for Glocks , having directly experienced the dreaded 'kaboom' , but that said ,I handload and quite simply ran some stuff through them that they couldn't stand up to.

And I've long been a 1911 advocate , my mil spec Springfield 1911 now has 7500 rounds ( approx) through it without a single failure , and believe it or not I've likely got the *only* decent Llama in the world , early sixties manufacture , the second barrels is now shot out and it has ( I am anal rententive about keeping records) better than 35 thousand rounds through it with a SINGLE failure , yes you heard me right.

However I recently moved to the SIG p220 after a day at the range in which the *only* thing my Kimber did better , along with the Wilson ,2 Bauers and several other highend .45 acps than than the two 220s a friend showed up with was look pretty.

I deliberately attempted to make the 220s malfunction ,limpwristed 'em , weak gripped 'em , rainbow mags consisting of all sorts of loads in the same mag , nothing phased them. Stopped at a local shop on the way home and bought one , waiting on another ( p220c).

And this comes from a thirty year 1911 aficianado , I change bolt rifles as often as I change my shorts , I don't change sidearms if they work for me.

The first 220 I purchased is now coming up on the 2500 round mark ,zero failures , digests and feeds anything I can stuff in a mag , the only modification I will make will be the short reset trigger. Sure it was pricey but it was well worth with it and likely it and the 220c ( carry) will be the last .45 acps I ever have to buy.

The Kimber is gone , the Llama is officially retired ( I'll keep it for sentimental reasons) and I've yet to make a decision on the Springfield.

All this said ,I'm not sure ( as others have pointed out) that the original question really has an adequate answer. Doesn't it really come down to what works for the individual shooter and what they have confidence in?
