almost a Ferrari handgun
An odd one that no one has mentioned yet.
The Benelli B76; 9mm. I bought two, years ago. They had all the best of features combined into one pistol. I foolishly traded one, and it sat at the dealers for almost two months. I could'nt believe it. $325 was the asking.
So I returned and bought it back and was glad I did.
It was an all steel -welded frame designed for military and target competitions all in one.
Fixed barrel; solidly mounted in the frame. Accurate. Cam delayed, locked breech. A pushbar, rather than pull bar trigger mechanism. A wide target trigger. Hard chromed parts. The double/ single action trigger is the best I've experienced. The grip shape and angle is even better than the HP. I mean, you have to hold this pistol to appreciate it. It loves your hand.
Fine grip grooving front and back of the, grip. Large, quick to aquire, but no sharp edge, front sight blade. Buffer washers on the spring guide rod. Yes, and for a moderate recoil 9mm.
The magazine release is a forward push to release that eliminates accidental mag ejections. The magazines themselves are skeletonized with finger disc holds to aid in dropping the follower during reloading. It even has a loaded chamber indicator that is the extractor. The safety lies forward of where the 1911 safety is, so it is easy to engage, and snaps straight up and down. Made to handle the hotest military rounds according to the manual.
And to top it all off, the styling is, well "Italian." Va, va, voom!
