Motor Oil???

Okay, this thread has officially bifurcated into a state of total confusion. It started with a question about using motor oil to lubricate, digressed on a tangent discussing ATF to clean, and now has people confusing Mobile 1 with ATF.

No actually I didn't get confused. I answered a specific question with a direct answer. What brand ATF? Mobil 1. Why? Left over after changing a transfer case. Oh and I use it to lube my guns. Usually use soap, hot water, and alcohol to clean them.

Its possible the poster ment this!

I've been using Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic for years. Same quart as a matter of fact.

No issues to date.
