Barsony ankle holster.

Denfoote-

How do you like that ankle holster? I saw them on ebay. I do a lot of driving and thought this would be good for then.

I like it.

It does not flop around like my Fobus ankle holster does (it's in the dead holster box)!!! it adjusts to various diameters of thigh and ankles. There is nothing you can do about where the garter attaches, though. With me it's just below the knee.

I've been wearing it about a week now and it is comfortable. I was looking for something that I could reach while driving that did not involve me taking the time to first undo my seat belt. This fits the bill quite nicely. The company is good to deal with and it only cost me $22 with shipping. Although, I did note that they have raised the price by $2.

It comes with a nylon thumb strap, which got discarded almost as soon as it arrived!! You don't really need it because the gun is held in place by the tightening of the ankle strap. It does not come out or move!!

I guess the pictures are to scale on my screen, then. Maybe I'm mixed up with the Webley Navy model in .455. Similar shape to it. Nice guns you got there, for sure.

[What keeps you interested in these minuscule man stoppers? Mouse guns; BUGs; pocket pistol/purse pistol/QUOTE]

For me, two things. First, I just think they are neat. I know thats not a technical answer full of eye-opening philosophy, but it's true and I think it's enough of a justification on it's own. Second, I like to wear shorts, and some of my shorts don't have belts (drawstring-type cargo shorts) or belt loops. The little Kel-Tec with a clip is about perfect for these situations. Plus, if I am going to the store or something, I want to be armed, but I don't necessarily strap up every time I go, you know? Mouseguns aren't perfect, and I would certainly rather have a .45 or a .357 on tap if I needed it rather than a .32. But, there are plenty of situations for me that I can think of that it would be a .32 or nothing, and a small gun is better than no gun.

OK mousegun guize. These pics are really neat. I'm learning, but I have a question. What is the best mousegun caliber for SD?

.45-70 out of a derringer.
Don't listen to that, he's trying to kill you.:D

If you consider the .380 ACP a mousegun, I'd have to consider that it. Other than that I'd say .32 ACP

There used to be some true backups in 9mm, the Detonics being a good example. But recoil is horrendous, so that's not very practical.

I don't have pictures, but my kel tec P32 is a great little shooter and I too, think everybody should have one. This site is a pretty good reference for anyone thinking about buying a mousegun as well as those who already have one.

I was waiting for a post like this to see if anybody would post something similar, but nothing close yet. I have what looks to be a clone of the baby browning in 25 acp. no grip safety and european mag release type, similar to the one Jrfoxx posted. The slide reads manufature of fire arms mondial no. 14 patent. On the front of the slide between the barrel and the guide rod spain is stamped. The seriel nuber is 15xxx. I have attempted to gain knowledge on this gun with no luck, so any info would be appericated.

I don't mean to high jack the thread just thought this would fit in with the whole mouse gun thing. I can start a new one if need be.

I doubt most people consider this a mouse gun, but my definition is the 24/7 gun you'll always carry. I think a CCW should be the most powerful weapon you can shoot accurately that's still small enough to always carry. For me this is it. I carry it in my right rear pocket in a thin Kydex holster from GrandfatherOak.com.

PM9-InTheHand.jpg

The trigger pull is long because it's a DAO, but it settled in at 5 pounds and it's very smooth. The PM9 is spooky accurate. No pistol this tiny should be this accurate. And with 6+1 rounds of Corbon 9mm DPX, I don't feel undergunned. Reliability has been 100%. I've tried very hard and could not make the PM9 malfunction. I also like the all stainless and polymer construction, and the black DLC coating is extremely hard, so after months of demanding pocket carry it still looks new.

When I say 24/7, I mean it. I even take this pistol white water kayaking. When I'm sleeping, it's in my pants pocket next to the bed. It's as constant a companion as my keys, wallet and cell phone.

I simply couldn't talk myself into a 380 or smaller, and I couldn't carry the 10mm I wanted to carry. I did give some serious consideration to the PM40, but it's slightly bigger so the pocket draw may have been a bit slower, and it held one less round.

Tomcat Question

Glassman, I'm seriously thinking about one of those as backup to my backup. Mind if I ask what you paid? Is that the TRITIUM model? Any other photos? What do you mean by "60gr equals a .380"? Any holster yet? Thanks.

SIG228

I paid $375 OTD. It is not the tritium..it's the least expensive of the 3032 models. The .380 reference is from the Barette web site. They recommend 60 gr ammo with a muzzle energy not to exceed 130 foot pounds. The insert in the box suggests Winchester silvertips, Speer gold dot and Federal premium hydroshocks. I don't know enough about the differences in ammunition to dispute their claims so I'll stick with what they suggest. I have read on THR that Fiocci FMJ has the greatest penetration and that JHP rounds won't give enough expansion to make much of a difference. The one thing that gives me pause about this gun is that it is fully blowback operated and has no extractor. If I get a dud, there's no way to QUICKLY clear the round and chamber another. I'll take it for a test drive tomorrow and let you know how she works.
