I know, I know, its like going from the frying pan to the fire but here goes...Because of work I may need to relocate from Southern Jersey to Brooklyn, NY. ("f" me running).

Is there anyway I might be able to keep my shotgun, 4 rifles and 6 handguns? I'm searching the forums but didnt find anything yet, so i figured I'ld ask. Has anyone gone/going through this?

It's a tough decision, either I search for another job or give up (from what I assume of NY) my right to my firearms.:fire::banghead::confused:

thanks

The handguns are history ... don't even think of trying to bring them into NYC. If any of the rifles are EBR's (Evil Black Rifles), you can probably forget them too.

Personally, I'd give the State Police a ring and get their opinion. I'm sure it isn't the first time they have been asked.

Try moving to Westchester county if possible and then you can at least bring your long guns. The pistols you would have to get a permit for but at least you can eventually get to keep them.

I live in Dutchess County and wouldn't live in NYC or it's Bouroughs for any amount of money.

Could you move to north Jersey, and commute? Or over the line into Connecticut, and commute from there?

Don't see why you need to live in NY at all...

You mentioned frying pans and fires but I'm not so sure you really understand it...That will soon change.

Soon you will learn that the phrase "Have a nice day" is relative to things you don't really want to know about.

Good luck on your move, however it turns out.

Provided it doesn't violate NYC AWB laws, you can bring it in after you fill out all your licensing paperwork and get it approved. Or, you could just move closer to NYC and commute from NJ. Seriously. You can stay in your state. You can have that new G19 with new 15 round mag in NJ and stare out your window within spitting distance of Manhattan.
