In spite of their track record of getting me things they think I should want rather than the things I've asked for, I have some hope that my family might make some of my firearms related fantasies come true this Christmas. So here's my Christmas list, arranged in order of cost before shipping and FFL. Top five choices in bold.
Turkish Mauser. Around $50
91/30 Mosin-Nagant. $60-70
Romanian .22lr trainer. $70
Finnish M-39. Prefer the Valmet. $130 in VG condition. My second choice.
Yugo 59/66 SKS. $100-150. Number four.
Ruger GP-100. I've seen an ad in Shotgun News selling 4" half lug barrel stainless w/ a bobbed hammer for IIRC $249. Number three.
STG58 parts kit. $295 from DSA. My first choice.
Good AK-style rifle. Several are available for around $300. Number five.
Cetme w/ the plastic furniture. Around $300
I could go on, but even with all of them pooling all their money into one gift I'd think $300 is about it.
Having laid that out, I've got two questions.
1. What's on your Christmas list?
2. Anyone care to contribute to the "Buy Balog a gun for Christmas fund?"
