I just got finished fitting the stock to a rebuild M1 Garand tonight when I showed it off a bit to my 15 year old daughter. New barrel, fresh parkerizing, new walnut, everything.....
She says, WOW, that looks great, is it mine? Can I have it, I want to paint it pink.
Me: Uh, maybe it'll be yours in a while, but no, you can't paint it pink.
Her: Well, can I paint my new 22 pink? (this is a new marlin we picked out last week, but haven't shot yet)
Me: Well, I kind of hate to do that to a perfectly fine stock. How about we go the the gun show this weekend and see if we can't find something there we can paint for you.
Her: Ok, can my boyfriend come too?
Me: Yeah ( hopefully I can find a cheap 22 or pick up a Mosin)
