I know the Rallying Point section has been filled with somber news lately, but bear with me.

My grandmother is not in the best of health at the moment. 5 years ago (on my 16th birthday to be exact) she had a triple bypass surgery. Just the other day, we were informed of a growth in on of her lungs. Needless to say, all of the symptoms point towards cancer...final verdict is still to come on that....

This is extremely hard on my family. She practically raised me and my brother, and she has always been very close to me.

I would appreciate you all to say a quick prayer for Betty Shepherd and the family. Means a bunch, even though you may be a thousand miles away.

My thoughts are with you too. I've waited for a loved one's inevitable diagnosis before too, and they're hard times. Prayers aren't my thing either, but you have my best wishes, and I hope for your grandmother.

FWIW:

I was raised by a wonderful Grandmother after my Mom was murdered by my step-father (who then committed suicide) when I was 7..

I have a special place in my heart for Grandmothers, and my wife and I will certainly offer prayers nightly on your Grandmothers behalf..

God Bless you and your whole family,

Just said one brother,
I hope God sends comfort and mercy towards you and your family. Hope these help:

Psalm 71:20-21
Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.

Lamentations 3:31-33
For men are not cast off by the Lord forever.Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.

Great Scriptures Navy Guy, and not often quoted afaik. I hope they bring comfort to bang_bang. These guys on this forum are really great. What a great place to hang out with top quality people.

even though you may be a thousand miles away.

even though I prayed a thousand miles away, Christ who stands right next to me day to day, heard my prayer while standing right next to you day to day. My favorite chapter in the Bible is Psalm 13, I pray she gets better.
