I do not have any of these but...My favorite S&W would be a 6 shot K frame in Scandium with fixed sights and a 3" tapered barrel in 9mm that works with moonclips.

It could look somethng like this Model 12 with a 3" barrel

or this is a 3" model 10-5 with the intermediate barrel.

Another would be this one shipped 14 June 1956, it is 5 days older than I am.

My favorite Smith is my Model 66 2.5" barrel. Somebody lost our camera (cough... wife or kids...cough) so I cannot post a picture. But it is sweeeeeet. Best $400 I ever spent!

I wanted one for over a decade... finally got a new one - then a backup. They are both gripped differently now, but this is still my favorite grip to grab. The 2 5/8" PC627 UDR is just uncannily accurate, especially considering it's short barrel/sight radius. Great defender, too. A frequent range bag occupant.

Now, if I didn't have to defend my home with it, my 4" 617 always brings a smile to my face... and quite frugally, too!

But... if sentiment is considered - and I keep my basement ammo factory & ammo stash - my first-ever S&W, my 625-7 MG in .45 Colt is IT! (top, below)

Tough decision.

..my favorite is my 1917. It was my Grandfather's revolver in WWi, and my dad carried it as a B-24 piolot in WWII. So it has earned its battle scars honorably.

That is awesome. I have my dad's old shotgun. That and his ball glove are sacred to me. Could you post a picture?

Hello friends and neighbors // No contest, my 6" 1983, model 586, Distingushed Combat Magnum, .357/.38.

A long carried tool, that has endured many trips to the range and proved useful as a Trail/CCW/Hunting revolver. It just feels right.

I have one or two other S&W revolvers to choose from.

I'll be the first to say my M500 but for an all around fun gun I'll choose my M22A or my customized 4" M28 357. I had it hard chromed at Ford's Custom Gun refinishing just outside Crystal River, FL after my uncle gave it to me in very worn condition.

Model 10

Don't matter the barrel length, just there is something about the Model 10 for me.
That said, and being one for "wood-n-blue, the 3" HB Model 64 is another.

Don't get me wrong, I have other favorite S&W's but these have that "something" for me

For the first time in near five decades I do no have any Smith's at this time. Yeah, I feel out of sorts...

My favorite smith is my 4" 686. Right now, it's the only smith I own, but I would very much like to grow my collection!

Future smiths: 629 6", model 29, model 27, and a good .357 snub (not sure what model yet)

Only revo I have from S&W right now is a 629 4". Looking for a 6" though.

My favorite would have to be the 460 xvr 8 3/8, especially since it is the only revolver I own so far. I am thrilled with the quality of it. The single action trigger is super light, but I shot it more accurately in double action mode when shooting some 45LC hand loads at about 1000 fps or so. I just had to have the big one for my first.

I have shot my dad's 38spl smith quite a bit. It is old but I don't know what frame or year it is. I shot a single action Ruger 44 mag that my grandfather has-also hand loaded for it, but just didn't like it as much as the smith.

When I looked at my 460, I also held a 629 44 mag if I recall correctly. The balance of that revolver felt amazing and I almost considered it, but I had a bunch of 45LC brass and bullets at home, bought a number of years ago with my used dillon 550, waiting for the 460. I can't wait to get some AA5744 powder so I can try some medium loads in my Smith. The hot loads with win 296 are like :what: :D but the gun still doesn't punish my hands. The concussion, is another story.

Oh yeah, I'm new here. I read a couple other forums and found this one while looking for 460 load data, Nice to meet ya.
