The best range gun I can carry is my Gen4 G-21. The best carry gun I can shoot accurately would be an H&K P30 in .40 with a LEM trigger variant. Fed American Eagle Range Ammo; Win. PDX1 JHPs and Comp-Tac holsters for carry. Your Turn!

When shooting slow fire for accuracy, my 1911 with target loads is the easiest to shoot but when shooting under pressure in timed conditions, I do well with my 9mm P30 LEM.

The P30 is the gun I carry, train with, and use for practice. For me, switching back and forth only degrades my performance overall.

SIG 232 is the most accurate carry gun that I can use. I have larger, more accurate and more powerful guns, but I do not carry them, except very rarely.

The SIG is a compromise between controllability and power on the one hand and concealabilty on other.

For a more affordable option (~$400), the Ruger SR9C is pretty good. Good sights and trigger, thin slide (published width measures ambidextrous safety) and thin grip.

I carry or have carried these three, and use them both as range guns, and carry guns due to their accuracy, and reliability.

CZ-75D PCR
Browning Hi Power MK III
HK P7

Of those I own, my Ruger P-95 and my Bersa Thunder 380 are both "carry-able" (one more so than the other), and perform equally well in my hands at the range.

I shoot my Kel-Tec PF9 and P32 both about as well as those, but I do not consider them "range guns."

My FEG AP22 and my Taurus PT-22 are range guns that I do well with, and can certainly be carried for defense, but they are not in my carry rotation list.

You can carry just about anything you can think of, you just don't want to do it everyday. But I can throw a Thompson Contender in a laptop case and carry it no problem.

I have no doubt there are people carrying 1911s every day. Personally a G19 would be my upper limit and I don't carry one. I carry a G26 and its accurate enough.

I shoot IDPA/USPSA with a full size 1911, and carry one almost every day. I hope I never need to defend myself with a pistol, but if I do, I want the pistol I shoot the best with, and for me that's a 1911. Carrying a full size service pistol of any sort is more of a pain than totin' a snubby, but you'll be glad to have it if you ever need it. I will confess, there are times when it's just to big to conceal well, and that's when the snubby, or the P3AT come out of the safe.

I'm pretty competent at the range with my Wilson 1911, which is what I carry every day and with which I partake in pistol "games"; but excluding the idea that I would even consider carrying a S&W41, the best "carryable" range pistol I own is a Sig X5. And don't think I HAVEN'T considered carrying it - but man, is it big.

Original Colt trooper 38 special 4 in.

I can outshoot any semi auto with it. Stuff it with Cor-Bon or my "special" handloads and it will outperform most 40 cals.

Power? I thought the Sig 232 was a .380.....

For me that is the HK P2000sk. Though small, it shoots like a larger duty size pistol. It is also easy to shoot well, being accurate and ergonomic, with a good trigger and sights.

I have other guns that are certainly "Carry-able", (Sig, Glock, Beretta, Bersa, Kahr for example), but the one small, concealable marvel, that still feels good after hundreds of rounds in a session, is the HK.

glock 26. i have to move the gun so that i dont just make one big hole in the target at the range. easy to conceal

I shoot everything I own accurately. If I ran across something I couldn't shoot well I would get rid of it. Ive shot a couple S&W snubs that Didnt make the cut. However, My Ruger LCR is a dream to shoot. I shoot +P loads out of it on every trip to the range. Don't limit yourself to full sized guns, just practice more with the small ones!

Same here. I hate it but my Gen4 Glock 26 is simply fun to shoot at the range - mostly because it's a tack driver at combat distances and I don't shoot much bulls eye style anymore. It's 5, 7 and 10 yards for me and I have to dumb it down when shooting it so my Wife doesn't give me "The Look" and accuse me of showing off.:D

I hated Glocks and all polymers no more than 6 months ago now the king of plastic pistols is my soul mate.

We can't legally carry yet in Illinois but we can at the farm in Iowa and this little devil hides in a pocket, excels in appendix carry on me, and I'm considering an ankle rig for when I'm going Business Casual.

Love my Glock 26 and I'm ashamed to admit it.

My daily carry is a Springfield 4" 1911. It is small enough that I can carry it without getting "made" most places and a long enough sight radius that it is accurate.

Concealable vs. Range accuracy is always a trade off. You are searching for that perfect middle ground between the two. Sort of a jack of all trades, master of nothing proposition. My LCP, I can literally carry everywhere, regardless of what I am wearing, but it is not a super accurate range gun, by a long shot. My 7 1/2" barrel Super Blackhawk Hunter is an uber accurate range and hunting gun but under anything but a parka, there is no way to conceal that beast.

If you think that your most accurate range gun is also your EDC gun then I suspect that you may not have enough guns :D
