I wouldn't say taking a little metal off as anything out the the ordinary.

Interesting. I currently own 6 shotguns and the only thing that's ever seen a power tool is the recoil pad I fitted to one of them using a belt sander.

Maybe we should take a poll: "How many of you have used a benchgrinder on your shotguns as a matter of course?"

I'll be we won't get a lot of "yes" votes.

Come on! What are you trying to prove. You probably don't see as many shotguns as do. I do mods all the time on shotguns. For one, I have shortened the mag tubes on Excell Auto 5 shotguns for Remington 870 tube extensions to fit. They have the same thread pattern as a Remington 870. I make tube extensions for shotguns and also modify other tubes. I am coming out with a oversize tactical bolt handle for the Moss 930 SPX called The NOB. There has been a review write up done on it on Shotgun world, AR15.COM and WeaponEvolution.com. I not only work with Norinco shotguns I do many other shotgun as well.

Here is a Picture of The NOB on a Mossberg 930 SPX:

I am not a hunter or a skeet shooter I am more interested in the 3 gun match & tactical side of shotguns.

You are finding an argument where, IMO, none exists.

I am an occasional hunter and skeet shooter and being able to change out barrels is a big deal to me.

Your interests lie along turning a tactical widgit into a tactical whatsis.

Nothing wrong with that but it's not flexibility. No real change has been made.

As you can see in my above post. I do a lot more than just add and change things out. I make shotgun accessories. I now have available a +3 mag tube extension for the 870 with a 18.5" bbl that is even with the muzzle and gives it 7+1 capacity.

New 870 Express HD Model #5077 18.5" bbl with one of my +3 (7+1) capacity tube extensions. They are available if anyone is interested.

I’m new to this forum so if this post is in the wrong thread, feel free to delete it. That being said, I just purchased a Pardner Pump Protector last month. I wanted a low cost gun (not cheep) because this gun was going to be under the bed, in the corner, or under the seat of my truck 90% of it’s life. Yes, I wanted a 870 express but after shopping gun shops, pawn shops, and gun shows for 6 months I never found on in the price range I was looking for ($200 or less- used). I had decided to buy a Moss 500 so I waited for them to go on sale at the local sporting goods store. When they did, I went in to buy one and saw the PPP next to it. I compared both guns side by side and, hands down, the PPP was the better gun. The fit and finish where better, the receiver is milled from steal where as the moss is aluminum, and the slide had much less play compared to the Moss. I went home and did a little research and, for what I was looking for, the PPP fit the bill. It doesn’t have any bells or whistles but I wasn’t looking for that. I was a little leery about a gun made in China but I figured for the price ($160.12 out the door) if it didn’t live up to my expectations I’d just sell it and chalk it up to me being just a little too cheap. Well, now I have put multiple boxes of #7 shot, 00 Buckshot, and Mag slugs through it without one problem!!!! This little gun is a natural pointer. Just my 2 cents but the PPP is a nice inexpensive shotgun and would make a great home defense gun or truck gun. Besides who wants a nice 870 banging around under the seat of there truck or under the bed where it can’t be admired?

My NEF 12 gauge pardner pump has this printed on the side of the barrel:

H&R 1871. LLC-Gardner, Mass. USA
Pardner Pump 12 GA.-2 3/4" or 3". BTW it is a good shooting gun with a 28" barrel and a modified choke. I picked it up NIB for $150 out the door.
