Seems like best place to post this ............

So - what are YOUR neighbors like then?? Are they pro gun or anti?

I am fortunate ... my immediate neighbors are reasonably pro ... know I carry etc and have no problem with that. In fact locally, gun awareness is quite good overall. I'll plink .22 from yard but in fairness ... save the bigger stuff for range visits.

I do tho know of a buddy thru the boards .... over in OR ... oh and another down KCMO way .. they both load their guns into vehicles with extreme subtlety when goin to the range .... cos neighbors might ''get upset''.:p So they play things for ''diplomacy''

Guess it does depend a great deal on where you live.... plus of course whether you have neighbors that close anyways!

The neighbours on my left shoot skeet in the horse pasture across the street.

The neighbours on my right (my landlords) let me use the pistol range in their backyard.

Life is good.

My gun shop is at my home. Some of my neighbors have bought from me. No one has complained, I think they feel safe knowing there are armed neighbors around. The neighborhood I live in also has quite a few small businesses built in their back yards so it wasn't a big shock when the parking lot was put in out back and they found out there was a gunshop going in.

I don't know my neighbors. :(

Maybe it's time to bake some pies and cookies and get to know know my neighbors!

Somehow, based on the bumper stickers I've seen on cars on my block, I doubt many of them are pro-gun.

across the street, pro, across the alley, pro, one of the houses on this block is a little old widow lady whose husband was undoubtedly pro, but all she's really interested in is watching our dogs play inside the chain link fence, since she's not up to keeping a dog herself anymore.:)

editted for grammar correction...

I don't discuss guns with my neighbors. I don't care what they think and the less they know about me the better.

My neighbors are not anti. One across the street teaches archery, his wife watched me reload for a while and called it "fascinating". Another across the street is from Sydney, knows what gun control really means. All the others have shown friendly interest in my hobby.

But I fear we're the only house in the court that's properly armed (bows and arrows don't count). That's OK, we can equip the 'hood. ;)

Most of my neighbors are college students and I doubt they really care either way...My landlord on the other hand is a major Liberal tree hugger so I have no doubt he is anti. He hasn't been in my place since I moved in though and I doubt he knows I own guns. I may load up the trunk one day when he is around just to see how he reacts  I'm outta there in june anyways so I don't really care what he thinks.

Australian 'neighbors'....

may be presumed 'anti' until proven otherwise:(

Our neighbors to the east saw my rifle and pistol safes coming off the truck and later while we were visiting, the woman said..."Your gun-lobby has too much power (what planet is she from?) and meanwhile women and children continue to die from gun violence". Hmmmm....must have been another anti-gun editorial in "The Sydney Morning Herald" that morning?:fire:

one with an "Arsenal" of hunting rifles:D gunshots very common(i live in the country) even full auto over the hill in a couple places:evil:

Have gone shooting with two of the neighbors at different times. Of the 12 houses on the block, I only question five may be anti. The rest I know are gun friendly or avid hunters.

I know this will be hard to believe since I live in N.J.

To my left, shotgun hunter. To my right, shotgun hunter. Across the street, shotgun hunter. To the right of him, Police officer. Behind me to the left 2 doors, police officer. Behind me to the right 2 doors, the Mayor (anti). I think I know which part of my town will be "protected ".:D

I think....

that this falls in same category as anti-war, pro-abortion, anti-religion, anti-SUV, anti-President Bush, general anti-American feelings "so prevalent"

the media would have you believe that 95% of the populace are against what we typically believe in. That we are the lunatic minority.

they don't understand that they're the minority...they just think "they're not getting their message across".

Once you come out of the closet as a gun owner, you'll be greatly suprised how many others are shooters too. The very, very few that are anti...go ahead and let 'em try to debate me. They just end up getting their feelings hurt.

I had a friend in college. Major was Ancient Greek Philosophy. Very anti-gun. We started having a rational debate (rational being the key). I asked how he could dislike something he had no experience with. He agreed. We went shooting hand thrown clays. The guy was an absolute natural...broke probably 12-15 straight, first try. He ended up buying a shotgun.

Neighbors are Yuppies and Anti-gun except for one an old WW-2 vet he is cool walks around his yard with a Stag gripped Model 60 in his sweater vest pocket.:D

I'am not sure but no one in my small apt complex(7 apts) has complained when i open carry. My old next door neighbor did kind of freakout when federal express left a case of ammo at his doorstep but he's moved now.

I don't know and I don't care as most of my neighbors won't talk to me or my roomie.

My roomie has a lot of tattoos and so people think the worst right away. We are actually really nice people if they would make even half the attempt to get to know us. Lord knows I tried this winter, helping the neighbors shovel out of the upwards of 2 feet of snow. They couldn't wait for me to leave after all the work was done.

I have never spoken to my neighbors on our side or front. We have heard the neighbors across the street argue and decide to divorce, they were yelling loud enough so we could hear it in our house. The neighbors next to us have bratty kids that throw trash in our yard and bottles at the wall, and a dog that cries/fights with the other dog, so I have no interest in getting to know that home either. They haven't seen me that I know of when I am off to the range.

The lady next door is the daughter of the former police chief, she's anti or confused. I don’t know which.

The guy across the street sells M16 and AR's to law enforcement. His garage wall has a bunch of silhouette targets hanging with the faces shot out.

I don’t know about the rest of the neighbors. I’m sure there nice people.

All my neighbors seem to be pro-gun except the nearest couple, who live about 300 yards away. She's not so much anti-gun as anti-noise. He's deathly afraid of guns--dunno why; maybe a Bad Thing happened when he was a kid.

Since my backhoe makes it possible for them to get across the creek during flood times, and I was resident here before them, they know better than to ever complain. :D During range sessions, they're free to go into town or whatever...

jerk

My neighbor across the street is from Pakistan. I will assume he is pro, since a number of years ago, he threatened to shoot my then-young sons for going into his yard to retreive tennis balls. They were using them for "batting practice". They were 11 & 8 at the time. The jerk has a building out back (our front yard faces his back, as he lives on a corner) that he stored stolen goods in. He was a fence for some of the local druggies supporting their habits by shoplifting. I had reported suspicious activity to the local police many times, but he hadn't been caught, YET. I am happy to say the Karma Police caught up to him very shortly after the day he threatened my kids and I called the cops. He fell from a ladder and broke various bones. Shortly afterward, he was arrested and served about a year in jail. He is much more subdued since.

At the time this all occurred, I did not shoot. I would LOVE for him to come and lay on my doorbell again and threaten to shoot. He'd get to meet Rosie, my carry weapon, up close and personal.

Thanks for reading my rant!

Becky
