Neighbors... pro or anti?

Neighbor has a 1919

My neighbor to the left is the local head of the VFW and has a 1919 .30 cal. with grips and a spade trigger mounted on a pedestal in a WW II vintage jeep. He also has several nicely done Garands with scabbards too.

He and his adult sons are re-enactors and do a lot of local parades and such.

Since he is also a retired machinist, with a well equipped home shop (sigh) I know he has some interesting hardware for his fellow re-enactors.

We loan tools to each other sometimes and he's curious about my old cars and antique motor scooters. So we are gradually getting to know each other better. I'm looking forward to getting invited to his shop to see what kind of toys he plays with in private.

Neighbors around me are pretty accepting. Former Marine to the left of me, older woman to my right whose husband had firearms. Several other neighbors know that I have them, but don't seem to mind.

Being a single guy, I sometimes have 'baking frenzies' (yeah, I'm domestic, so sue me! :D ), and the neighbors get the treats. Being one guy, I can't very well eat 8 dozen cookies! Maybe the treats keep 'em quiet. LOL

This past fall, we had new neighbors move in across the street, and I left them a goodie basket when they weren't home. Well, they returned the favor, and the look on their face was priceless when I opened the door. I think they were expecting some old lady or something.

Instead, they saw a mid-30's long haired (growing for Locks of Love) hippie freak, wearing a Dillon Aero GE Mini-gun shirt. I could see the wheels were turning, as they tried to figure me out.
I must have been accepted, they're still talking to me! ;)

Let's see....

Neighbor to the east kid got caught plinking BB's into my backyard. Said he was shooting at birds when in all actuallity the only animal in the backyard was my dog. I'd say they are pro...

Neighbor to the west watched one night out their back door while someone stole my go cart and did nothing. I'd say they are anti but they have never said a word about seeing us load up for a trip to the desert nor when we practice flingin arrows in the backyard.

Neighbor directly across the street to the right is retired military and Lockheed security and has worked at the local gun shop for the last who knows how many years. Both he and his wife carry and alsways have. I'd say they are pro.

Neighbor directly across the street and to the left is a long haired hippy type that keeps to himself. Not sure about him.

Next door to him the man is probably a fence sitter while the woman is definitely anti. Won't let her daughter come shooting with us but will let her go to the archery range with us. She's allowed in our house and is allowed to stay overnight but no one has ever asked if all the guns are always locked up. They aren't and I would never lie so I'm not sure what her trip is.

Get me out of this PLace!!!!!! the people in the unit next to me the sons a felon, the father is a drunk and the mom is lost in space, as for the neighbor next to them she is a avid anti , if it wasn't for the fact that my freinds are leo's she probably call atf on me . the person next to them new haven't met yet , stereo typ yup type , next to them is a nurse from central Ill , Haven't met her yet , next to them is a freind of mine who asked me to clean and fix his old shotgun so I would say he is Pro (nice berretta O/O) and don't care to know the last 2 units My neighbors behind me .. weel they don't exist (commercial prop ) and my neighbors across the way .hmm lets not go there... Yuppie soccor do gooding arrghh ... and people who have the police visiting them every other day ... nice neighborhood ... anyone want to buy a condo cheap???

The good neighbors that use to live next door to me are pro. I grew up with their sons. Use to play baseball with tennis balls all the time. The people that now occupy the home are well a waste of O2. (examples was trying to cut some branches down from a tree one summer with a chain saw. Took him 1 hour to cut down a branch with less that 6 in diameter. He places the chain saw on the branch and expected the saw to do the work)

A few of us in the neighborhood got a good laugh out of that.

The guys that use to rent the house across the street were pro, and the others around me are somewhat questionable.

Most of the people the block are older. A new influx of kids have showed up in the neighborhood due to house rentals. :fire:

They tend to case the neighborhood quite a bit. Lucky that I have Sactown and a few fellas on in a 1/2 block radius that are progun.

I have my Gunsmithing business in my home and have met many of my neighbors when they brought their firearms over for repair. I don't know of any anti's close by. Got my sign out front and have not had one single negitive comment from anyone. The city gave me my business license without hassle even though I'm not zoned business. It's sure nice living in a pro gun community. :D ;)

Live in rural Western Oregon.

Neighbors to the north are pro. Haven't met the neighbors to the south but they go through several cases of ammo each month. I think that makes them pro. Good shooting;)
