Yea they went fast. Either only had a few or demand is high. For $899 I think I’ll pass for now. The S&W 2.0 with the 4.6” barrel is on my short list

I've made in excess of 30 canoe trips into the BWCA and have been through Ely MN. The only time that I've ever seen a bear is at the entry points of the BWCA when the bears were getting into the garbage cans. That said, my Dad took my sisters into the BWCA and they had a bear enter the campsite that started biting into everything looking for food. I have the camera and camera case with bear teeth marks on them, as well as a plastic white gas bottle that the bear bit into. I don't think that the bear liked the taste of that campstove fuel very much.

To be honest, the moose have been more of a problem than the bears. But you DON'T want to argue with either of them!

Or bear spray. From what I've been reading, bear spray is more effective at fending off bears than most firearms. I had no idea that a bear's fat layer could be that deep.

But if you need a good excuse to by a 10 mm, a bear is as good a reason as any!

I don't like the front heavy feel of my G40, although it does compensate for muzzle flip from the G20.

That’s what a RMR sight is good for, creates a nice balance.

Interesting how Sig adapted what was introduced as a 9mm platform to 10mm.

Could you imagine what the hunk of metal would have been like if they set out to make it a 10mm?

I've made several trips into the Boundary Waters (two week ventures, mostly in the fall with fishing being a priority) and have had several encounters with black bears. On one occasion, a bear tried to make off with a food cache while we were in camp. He left it reluctantly after being chased with banging pans and loud words.
