It's not "one flick of the safety" from being fired. In order to fire these things have to happen:

1- flick off safety
2- depress grip safety
3- pull the trigger, which drops the firing pin block & the hammer
KAS1981, I think you have this out of order some
1- depress drip safety (happens automatically when you take a proper firing grip)
2- flick off safety (once gripped, in easy reach of the thumb, but if the safety is fitted correctly, should take a deliberate effort. If it too easily flops on or off, maybe a new thumb safety should be fitted. )
3- Pull the trigger. (a firing pin block not on all 1911s Colt series 80s etc.. BUT a good carry trigger should have 4 or MORE pounds of pull, so again a deliberate action, once you actually put you finger on the trigger)

your gun is one flick of the safety AND a beaver tail push AND a trigger pull away from a discharge. I carry a Glock 27
ET.. this doesn't make sense to me. You carry a 1 action to ND (in the direction of your favorite appendage) over a 3 action to ND.. If I had a weapon pointed at my junk, I'd want as many safeties as I could in the way of losing them. ;)
