New Fullsize .22LR?

I own and have owned and shot many 22LR handguns, and this semi-auto makes it out to the range more often than the others, though it's difficult to express exactly why.

If you live in a less free state, best to stick with the Ruger Mark or S&W Victory

If I were in the market for another right now I'd consider the S&W Victory.

I have many full size 22 auto loaders. SW a victory and 22 A.

If I wanted a pistol of that style, but with a more upright grip, I would get SW22 Victory. Oh wait, I did.

A Rossi “Plinker” a lot more gun than its price would dictate.

Yes, they are. I have the 6" model and while I liked it I never really fell in love with it because of the grip. I and it just didn't get along very well together. Eventually I searched around for a replacement grip and found one that fits and is much more user friendly, at least to this user and it has become one of my favorite range toys. I am currently working (slowly, very slowly) on a holster for it so it can go riding around and taking some walks with me.

Don't see many of the Rossi Plinkers around. I had two at one time, a 6" like yours, and a 4" that I still currently own. Great little revolvers![/QUOTE] Rossi quit making revolvers a few years ago. I bought mine off GunBroker absolutely dirt cheap. I found out why, it hit 3’ low at 10’ and the sight would no adjust. I took the sight off and just put it back on, works perfectly. I killed a groundhog with it at 35 yards (took 5 shots however)

I had the low low hit problem plus sticky chambers. I took the rear sight apart and cleaned everything well, reassembled, and it is better but still shoots a little low. No matter. I learned to do Kentucky elevation a long time ago and it is a very capable coke can killer at 25 yards. Half of the light rod above the rear sight blade puts it dead on at that range. A bore mop, Clover fine valve grinding compound, and a VS cordless drill made quick work of the sticky problem. I bought mine brand new after it road around in it's box to gunshows for five years. Needless to say, that cardboard box was well worn.

My .22 handguns consist of a Ruger Standard (with a Pac-lite upper/barrel), a Browning Buckmark, and a .22LR conversion slide for my 1911. I like the full sized .22's.

In general, to me the .22 handguns (or rifles) that are meant to be just smaller versions of a "real" gun come off as a bit toy-like. Sort of like the imitation version of the "real" gun. I'd rather have something built from the ground up to be an awesome .22LR.

Got a couple bricks of CCI AR Tactical .22LR for Xmas. I run them in my LCPII .22 which is a blast of course but it’s got me day dreaming about a fullsize .22 autoloader. A large part of me thinks a Ruger Mark Hunter would be a classic addition. But another part of me thinks I should stick with the “trainer” style tactical .22s that resemble their larger caliber brethren. Just day dreaming. What do you fellas run and like?
When I get my SilencerCo Sparrow out of jail, which will probably only be a few months from now, I'm buying a Walther PPQ 22lr with a threaded barrel. I already have a CZ 457 Pro Varmint bolt action rifle so I want a tactical semi auto handgun for S&Gs.
