Hello everybody

I'm sorry for my english, i'm french.

I hope to find many informations about the american gun laws for a research task.

Well, over here in France, the law about weapons will change soon, it will be really more restrictive.
France must to change the gun control and our politicians found a good opportunity to restrict a little more the legislation, and many weapons considered as "military" will be prohibited and confiscated . 9mm, 5.56 nato, .45acp, and many others...
We don't have a strong lobby to defend us like the NRA, and the public opinion is against the weapon's owners.

I just would like to live in Alaska, far from this country and far from these stupid politicians !

Just for Fun!

I'm new here, but thankful to have found a great place for people to discuss things unmentionable in the wacky state of CA intelligently.

I am a rifle and revolver man. Don't own an auto (someday I'll inherit a nice 40cal and the Ruger Mark 1 I learned to shoot with (in the 70's). Figure that's all I need.

I'd like to own a small (but tough--357 maybe) DA for defense: till then my SAs will have to do.

If you're on the Central Coast and know where I can use my larger cal rifles, I'd love to be your friend.

My name is Chris, I have been visiting THR regularly recently as my go-to-site for reloading advice and for just "killing time". I though that I might as well register because, even though I don't usually have anything useful to contribute to discussions, you never know.

Hello from California

Hello everybody. My name is Randy, I've been shooting for 45 years now. I've gotten a lot of valuable information from you all and thought I should join the discussion. My main interests are defensive pistol, black powder and airguns.

Looking forward to some good conversations about guns!

Hello All from newbie.

Hello, This looks to be a friendly place, with a wealth of knowledge. For a relative newbie to the gun world that also makes it inviting. As a young person so many years ago, I shot a lot of 22, and 410 out in the back field for fun. But never got more serious than that. Now these many years later I have a son looking to join the Corp. in a short year or so, and a very different World before me. It is time for me to rise up and begin to get more involved in the exercise and care of our ( American ) liberties. THR is a good place for me to learn from people who have been at this for a lot longer than myself......... :D As far as what about guns interests me :D , I can say, I am beginning to learn about what it will take to get my ccl, and whether this is the right thing for my Family. In the mean time I enjoy taking my oldest out to put practice rounds through a 12gu. self-defense pump gun. Slugs and 00/04 shot through center mass targets, as well as informally busting up clays with target loads. My personal goal is to become a surgeon with a scatter gun ( Many Jobs One Tool ) ;). Please don't be offended if I listen more than I speak. And thank you for keeping this site what it is.

Harold

Hey gang,

Aaron here in the great state of California, but I am close to the Oregon border so I can get my ammo up there during shopping. I like to reload and shoot my guns.

I have:

Remington Model 700 30.06
Stevens 311A - 20ga
Remington Sportsman 58 12ga
Remington 870 Wingmaster TB - 12ga with remington extension tube
Mossberg 144LS .22
Colt Commander .45
Browning Hi Power MK I 9mm
.50 cal custom black powder percussion cap gun, and needed stuff to shoot. Need to learn how.
Springfield XD .40 (duty weapon)

I plan on reloading for the 30.06, Colt, Shotgun loads for giggles and 9mm.

I own a RCBS press, JR single stage that was my dads, a Lee shotgun loader (works okay) and various dies and tools in relation. I need .45 and 9mm dies someday soon, just collecting brass at this point.

I belong to the local gun club and 20 bucks gets a combo to the gate at the range and it's pretty nice. I tend to clean up after others to keep it nice.

I love to shoot and just cleaned and lubed up the Stevens to see if it shoots okay, everything looks fine, it's my grandfathers gun and I'm babysitting it for my mom. It's got a cracked stock and will replace and refinish when I get time.

Nice site here, glad to be here.

Aaron

Hi, been using THR for about a year to get information on possible purchases. Finally decided to join. Hello from The Great State of Texas!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Jan and I live in Northeast Texas. I registered today on THR to ask a question about a pistol that we own. My husband is the gun enthusiast, however, he is NOT a computer enthusiast! So, I have offered to help him find some answers.

Hi y'all, I'm Tony a bit cranky and a lot cast-iron. I like to think I'm a problem solver and not quick to judge. I've been a hard SF fan since the early 60's and a reader in general since the 50's. My first SFCon was in KC in 76 while still on active duty in the USAF. Cooking is a passion and I started working in a family place when I was six. As of now I'm retired but that could change anytime, Oh BTW, I still think the Citroen SM is the best looking car ever made.

New member from Maine here

Hello fellas,
I am an avid hunter, trapper. I have extensive experience in hunting and tactical firearms due my occupation. I recently was told about this site and signed up to get some insight on what make an model AK to purchase. Also to everyone here, "I get it". Learn everyday, pray for the best, prepare for the worst. Be nice to everyone but in the back of your mind always have a plan to take them out. Be independent and responsible. God Bless

Hello from Texas. I'm a long time member over at glocktalk.com
Just got out of the NAVY. Own a G23 and G19, looking for a .270 bolt action, and a few other firearms.

*New* Just wanted to introduce myself.

I've finally decided to join the site after years of lerking. I figured since THR always pops up in my Google results anytime I'm doing firearms/weapons/ammo research, I might as well sign up. I mainly visit the site for educational purposes, but will try to contribute whenever possible. Anyways, here's a little info about myself:

I'll be turning 22 on Sunday. I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ and can't see myself living anywhere else. I received my first firearm after high school graduation at the age of 18, but I've grown up and been around guns all my life (and come from a very 'gun-friendly' family). I only have a small selection of firearms at this time (Mossberg 500 with 28in barrel, blue finish and wood accessories; Ruger SP101 with 2 2.5in barrel in .357, and Phoenix Arms HP22a me and my girlfriend picked up as a cheap practice pistol so we could make it to the range more), but like everyone here, plan to add more when the resources and money is right.

Anyways, that's about it for now. Hope to start coming here more often. Hope the rest of you the best.

Doug.

Welcome to THR. A word of caution.... It is a true addiction....:D

Luckily, i can quit any time i want.

And happy birthday.

Engineering Student

Since I stopped playing sports after high school, I've turned my extra-curricula activities towards cars (71 Challenger R/T) and guns. I know a fair amount about hunting rifles and shotguns. That's about it. Looking to expand on that. I own many rifles and shotguns, some pistols and revolvers. All get used regularly hunting or otherwise.

Hello, I am a new member as of yesterday. My name is Brad and I am an Active Duty Marine. I've been reading The Highroad for a while now and I have appreciated all of the good information on gun models that I have found when I am looking for new purchases. I love to shoot pistols, revolvers, shotguns, and rifles. I am particularly a fan of the 1911 but I will shoot anything. Unfortunately I must fight with a varmint rifle and a pistol, the model of which shall not be mentioned, but I do enjoy being armed with finer weapons when I am on my own time.

Hi!

Hi! i registered on November 1st of last year to start research on this site, but didn't post because i didn't have anything to say.. yet!

Now i have a reason to introduce myself, i have purchased my first firearm!

After a lot of research and testing different guns, i settled on a Springfield XD.
I currently have the 9mm model, which i intend to shoot the hell out of and then trade up for a 40 or 45 model. i rather liked the XD(m) as well, but found a deal on a xd at a gun show i couldn't pass up.
