Howdy guys. I was active on the forum years ago as duckslayer, took a bit of a hiatus when I moved to NC, but now I’m back home in TX as duckslayer2...don’t have access to my old email anymore and couldn’t remember my password. Will be good to get back into the forum.

Hello Friends,

Bill here. I’ve recently decided to join or become relatively active in a number of forums I’ve either recently discovered or have been lurking in for quite some time. My interest in THR is a little of both. Many times when I want info, Google points me to a thread here.

I'm an Army vet - fours years in then out. Started my handgun training with a Gov't issued 1911 and was the NCOIC of the Armory (Hospital in Frankfurt) when we switched over to the M9. Never carried a M9 and only just recently shot a Beretta 92. Carry only 1911's nowadays. Have an inside scoop on a new Python 4-1/4" when they come out in blue. I'll learn to shoot that one and carry it for the super cool factor. Mighty effective in a pinch as well.

I like long guns as well. Especially self defense shotguns as of late. Don't have a gun collection - just a bunch of guns - that were all lost in a tragic boating accident.

NRA and TSRA supporter and draw the line at gun registration and ultimate confiscation. If I have to draw a firm line, I will. I pray and vote to keep that from ever happening.

All the best!

I'm back! Sort of. I was a member a long time ago--so long, I can't remember my username. The email I used then has been inactive for years, so my username is effectively lost in time. I stopped visiting in 2009 withe the Oleg Volk/ Derek Zeanah ownership debacle. I went to Calguns.net and did other things. I was pretty surprised the forum was still here, but given its longevity I'd be crazy not to make use of it.

Welcome! What is the basis for your new username?

Good to have you on board, Bill. Thanks for the introduction. There should be something here to pique your interest.

Welcome! What is the basis for your new username?

Because I'm already sick of the upcoming civil war everyone is so eager for. It's exhausting watching a nation tear itself apart with misinformation and animosity. I'm ready for the reconciliation and rebuilding part; it would be a lot easier and cost fewer lives.

Greetings everyone from Texas. I've lurked here for years and kept coming back for reloading information so I decided to register. Lo and behold, I already had an account I wasn't using. I'm primarily a handgun shooter and have gotten into revolvers this year with a pair of Model 27-2/28-2s I picked up.

You'll probably see me mostly around the reloading forum. Happy to be here!

Welcome! It's a friendly group that has gathered a lot of knowledge over many years. Sharing info on shooting and allied interests is our core value, and we try to be helpful and respectful. You will see that egos and politics will attract administrative attention, but otherwise we are pretty laid back.

What part of the world do you call home?

Pierce WA. Was born up in this area, lived in the SW on and off for a long time. Been back here again since the early 90's

Beautiful country! But where did all those people come from?
LOL, we have had a LOT, and I do mean a LOT come up here from CA. Sadly as they make a mess of where they live those with means up and move. Many started to come here finding that they could buy 3 times the home here for what they sold the one in CA. Only problem is they bring the same idea's with them and start to try to turn this place just like home, very gun unfriendly. Sad how far it's gone. One kid lives in ID. If Wife and I were not so well into the places we work moving there would be super tempting.

Hello from NC. New to the hobby, mainly interested in target shooting and sporting clays. I had never fired a handgun or shotgun until a few weeks ago, so I have lots to learn. I took an intro handgun class (using Glock 19), returned the next week and tried out several 9mm striker guns, and I ended up buying a P320 full size. Next step is to take the intermediate class and concealed carry class in August (hoping we won't be shut down again by then).

Hi all,

This is a short presentation of me, from myprofile.
Happy to be here.

European gunnut, that owns to many guns, shoot to much and reload even more than my government like.

I own a few guns, but I am about to hit the legal limit on how many I can own.

Baikal Mangolin 22lr (got two of these)
S&W K17 masterpiece (22lr)
357mag Desert Eagle
Colt Python - 1978
Colt 1911 - 9mm
Colt 38 watcutter mid range - National match (s/n#7790-mr)
S&W model 66
Otterup match - 7.62x51
Carl Gustaf M96/M38 - 1913 - 6.5x55 (100% historical correct)
Swiss K31 - 7.5x55 - 1951 if I remember correctly (100% historical correct)

I reload for it all. I'm not great at reloading for riffel, but I am slowly getting it.
But my handgun ammo has a great reputation in my local gun club. My rifle ammo will come to that, but I really don't make that much of it, and shot even less rifle.

On a weekly basis I shoot what Americans will call bullseye and around 10 times a year I shoot what Americans will call something like "one gun match".
I'am strongly considering Steel and challenge.

And yes, I'm a NRA member. Because American gunrights impact European gunrights.

Hello, I am new to firearms and to the forum. I am a city kid raised in a mostly gun free family. In 2018 I took my wife's S&W Model 10 to the range and that led to me purchasing several revolvers and semi-auto handguns. With Covid resulting in more time spent on the computer, I have decided to join the forum to increase my knowledge.

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm into all types of shooting (pistol, shotgun, rifle) and got into reloading the end of 2019. I had been living in California and did not want to give the state a penny more for their ammo background check laws.
