My username on a few other boards is either lefty red or tiel raptor. My left eye is going to hell, so now I have to learn to shoot my long guns right handed. And my cockatiel past away the first of the year, so I don't use that one either.

I'm raising a couple of young Princess, 11 and 13, and a young Prince, 3. The two girls both shoot and hunt when they aren't playing volleyball, softball, or running around in short skirts and waving pom-pons.

I hunt squirriels and deer mostly. I harass the local groundhogs and coydogs when I get a chance. I use to train dogs to hunt birds and labs for ducks, but its a rich mans game now. Land around here is scarce and what I did have to hunt on, was sold to Northerners.

I like to use blackpowder rifles and pistols. I haven't found "the one" yet, so I'm still swapping and looking. I've got a Colt Pocket Police in 36cal. Sweet is the word! That one will never leave me. I've had alot of '51 Navies, and a few other 36cals and 44cals.

I use to cast and reload ALOT. But time and money got he best of me. Now, I have a 22 conversion kit or the weapon in 22lr. I still cast lead for my smokepipes, when I can find it. And I see casting becoming a thing of the past with environmental issues and lead. Shame, I had fun doing it.

I like snubbies! Just something about those short barreled pistols that I love. I've got THE g-man pistol, the Colt Detective. And I've had a few S&W and still got a SP101 and Taurus 605.

I just love to shoot any firearm but being here in Southern California, we are restricted in the number of locations that we can shoot . Current arms include 7mm & .270 Remington 700 BDL/Leupold 3x9 scopes, 2 Browning Citori O/U 12 guage.Win 94 30-30, Ruger 1022, Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag/2x Scope, Ruger Single Six 357 Mag/2x scope, Walther P22, Ruger Single Six .22 cal, Ruger Mark III Target, Steyr GB 9MM, Springfieled 1911 45 cal Custom Loaded and a TC Encore 270 Hunter package with 2.5x7 scope. We use a Dillon RL 550 B for reloading all of the foregoing centerfire calibers. We try to shoot the handguns ( Encore .270 excluded) once a week locally at Insight Shooting Range (indoor x 25 yards) and at Angeles Shooting Range (outdoor) with the rifles and the Encore 270. We go through a lott of rounds weekly so the Dillon 550 is a blessing. When we are not shooting, we can be found on our boat out on the Pacific trying to catch fish that are no longer there.

Hi I am Alex and I am from Gilbert AZ. I currently do not own any firearms but am looking into getting either a Glock 19, CZ 75 B or a Beretta PX4 Storm.

Greets!

Have been shooting guns practically all of my life. Reload my own ammo since '86. Have a preference for the .22 LR in any sporting arm, the .44 Magnum & .45 ACP in pistol and the .223 and .308 in rifles. Here and there, I still cast my own .44 Mag and .45 ACP bullets. The .45 ACP is my CCW piece.

I don't actually shoot as much as I'd like to due I'm very much an avid and addicted trout fisherman and backpacker such that, more often than not, I WILL backpack my favorite rivers solo. I swear, it's a mental disorder! :neener:

Cheers! beerchug.gif

Hey guys ! Sorry I'm late....

Hey guys ! Sorry I'm late but I just traded in my Taurus. For a 500...but enough about cars. A guy I know has a Taurus 605B2, says he has fired less than 50 rounds through it and wants to sell it. I already own a Bersa Thunder .380 and a Glock Model 30. I keep thinking about this Taurus. Is there something wrong with me ? Do I have some type of disease. I am iterested in others opinions about the Taurus. What's a fair price for this weapon? Would you use it for cc?

Thanks for your input!!!

Almost new....

Not quite new, but haven't posted that much. Live in Washington State.

Served in the Army, in Wildflecken Germany with combat engineers. The base was primarily a training area, with lots of ranges. Lots of range time :D Didn't realize how great it was to fire on someone else's dime, until I got into target shooting.

Enjoy
target pistols, rifles
shotguns - skeet, sporting clays

Would like to learn more about gunsmithing if I ever get the time.

Hello, Forum. I am a teacher, coach, father, husband in Virginia. I love guns and the shooting sports. I have been a member for a month or so now. I do a whole lot more reading and learning about information on here than I do posting. I am proud of my "Arsenal" as I like to call it, and I have listed it in my signature line on here. I have been shooting guns since I was a young tike, but I was not very patient and took a hiatus for several years. My Junior year of college, I got back into it and began to deer hunt again. My first deer was taken with a T/C Contender in 32/20 Winchester. Since then I have killed several more with my Remington Model 7 in 7mm 08 and my remington 700 ML. I actively participate in IHMSA target shooting and remain an active member of the NRA. I must give props and thanks to my father and my mother for getting me involved as a youngster and continuing to share this great hobby with me and my family. My wife is just now getting into the shooting scene with me as well. My three daughters are also interested in shooting, and I have a 10/22 to bring them up right. Finally, in two weeks I will be joining my wife and several friends, and my father on a trip to south Texas to hunt the dangerous Wild Boar and Javelinas. We hope to get to pop some rattlesnakes along the way. Yes, we do eat the game we kill...You don't know what you are missing until you try it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey folks. Kansas CCL holder as of January of this year. I'm a management consultant which means I get to use fancy suits to conceal my lovely friends, namely my Glock 27, Kel-Tec P3AT, Beretta 96, SW 5906, and Ruger P345... I shoot a lot, recreationally, and I appreciate the hard work that the NRA and other hard-working people do to further the 2nd Amendment.

Good day to all! Yes, I'm new. At least 61 years ago I was.
I've just recently taken an intrest in the AR family. I've owned and used most sporting calibers, and like the idea of the larger new calibers for the AR.

Hey, just ordered my first handgun about a month ago. I grew up shooting guns and shooting my Dad's handguns but this is MY first handgun (Springfield XD 45 LE). Really like the site, a lot of good information.

Howdy!!!

Well, I finally decided, after writing several columns about gun control, I finally decided to sign up here, and get the straight scoop.

I'm retired from the W.Va. Air Guard (combat camera), a former Pa. Army Guard truck mechanic, and before that, a Bradley mechanic for the 2/64 Armor, and 2/34 Infantry.

Personally, I am getting tired of polichickens with their hands in my pockets, trying to take my guns away:cuss:

Anything else I can do to help?

(BTW, I miss shooting Ma Deuce!)

Greetings from Moscow, Idaho! :)

Hi everyone,

I'm a 21 year old college student and gun lover. :) My boyfriend and I are both studying history at the University of Idaho, and share our love of all things that go "boom." Our collection currently includes two Savage 99's (in .243 and .300 - both gifts from my dad), two Remington 870's (one, my first purchase, the classic Wingmaster, and the other my Christmas present to him last year - an 18" Express Magnum), a Beretta 96, my precious Springfield XD-40 Sub-Compact, a Kel-Tec P3AT (my birthday gift from him), a Saiga 308, and the newest member of our family, an AR-15 lower, who will be joined by a to-be-determined upper as soon as humanly possible.

I realize feelings are mixed on the topic, but cest la vie - we do tend to open carry around Moscow, where we enjoy the protection of our rights via state-level preemption. That whole adventure actually began when I realized I couldn't legally concealed carry at all before I was 21, because I couldn't get a permit. I could, however, legally open carry, so I did, and continue to do so. We go back and forth on whether or not we want to get our CCW; we firmly believe we shouldn't have to, but are trying to determine if it would mean we would be able to carry more, and if it's worth it. It's a constant back-and-forth between practicality and principles... *shrugs*

Anyway, I maintain a fairly new blog at http://www.laurelzimmer.com, where I chronicle my adventures in politics (mostly libertarian), beer (mostly a tongue-in-cheek title for social things :p) and guns - of all types. You're all welcome to join me there, and I promise the gun parts will become more entertaining as the weather warms up and I lose my winter wimpiness about going to the frozen range. :)

I'm glad to be here, looking forward to learning and being a part of this section of the gun community.

I'm Ron from Alabama, and am a retired Police officer. Obviously, I love to shoot just about anything, but I love old ITHACA double barrel shotguns.

Hello, everybody. My name is Mike and I own Microlon, Inc. We make metal treatments, including Gun Juice. I have been lurking and reading for a while, then decided to join the forum, and used the company name as my handle. I almost immediately regretted that, fearing that it might look like I'm advertising, which would make me look like a true dork, but it was too late to change it and now I'm getting around to posting. And rambling.

I own a couple of pistols, Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 and a CZ-P01 9mm. Recently I bought my dad an M1 Garand for his birthday (he just turned 81), since he carried one back in Bastogne with the 101st Airborne. He loves the gun, but he remarked that "it's heavier than I remembered". I pointed out to him that he was 19 back then, and he pondered that, and nodded.

Anyway, great to be here, looking forward to more lurking, rambling and gun buying.

Hi all

I discovered this forum during the early days of the Zumbo debacle. I've been stalking ever since and decided to sign up today. Great site, lots of intelligent information

Hello Everyone !

Hi Everyone,

I've been enjoying the High Road for several months now. This is a great place to learn and be entertained all at the same time. I feel like I have already got to know some of you from your posts. I look forward to getting more involved and participating in some discussions.

Sincerely,
Dean Christensen

HELLO.

Hi this is Adam from Kent, Washington. Pretty much interested in the pistol category but lately have been branching out into the long guns, etc. Nice site here hope I can make it better.
