Practical, sort of, lots of other 5.56mm rifles out there more practical and a LOT cheaper. But if that was the only way to get an MP44/STG44 clone, they would be close enough. The one offerred above for $4K is a LOT of money for a collectable, that's certain, but if that's what you want, as close to the original as you can without going over, ala Price Is Right, then that's the one for us.
As for Prvi Partisan making the ammo...hope that wasn't done at the factory that supposedly blew up...
Edit to add, if that one linked above is made by Special Weapons, keep it - I tried some of thier guns, and they are junk.
