I have a Browning in 100% condition that I have shot, but for the most part it just sits in my safe. It's a true safe queen. This past year I found a FEG locally that I snagged for $239. Internally it is in outstanding condition but externally the slide was pitted and looked like it had been dragged through riprap. I had the gun refinished with GunKote, and while not perfect it looks pretty doggone good. This one was imported by CAI and has the lanyard ring. I have read that it is a military FEG that is in original condition and isn't cobbled together. The gun is a sweet shooter and the trigger is superior to the Browning if only because I wasn't afraid to remove the mag safety on the FEG. While the Browning is a superb pistol the FEG has become the one that I love to shoot. Like I have heard about some other FEGs it tends to shoot high and to the right. With a little drift of the sights and maybe an ammo change it should shoot true. I do get a little contact from the hammer but not enough to cause any pain, only just the slightest contact.
For someone looking at wanting a High Power who doesn't want to break the bank, or can't score an FN/Browning, or is protecting a safe queen, the FEG is the way to go.
