Non-AR SBR

I'd still really like to SBR a glock 17 and put it in a chassis with a butt stock and fore grip.

I was thinking the Glock 34 MOS with a red dot on the slide and one of those Mako Group stocks would be cool. Then I realized a 10mm would be even more cool.

What does 922r have to do with it?
A gun that is imported as a handgun does not have to comply with 922(r). However, you can't then make a rifle out of it -- even an NFA short-barreled rifle -- without making it 922(r) compliant.

The only stocked Glock I have ever shot was a full auto 34 and it wouldn't be as much fun with just 15 rounds.

I'm thinking my next one will be my PPS-43C in 9mm. Original folding stock is pinned closed and it is sold as a pistol.

Another cool one would be a cheap Remington 870 cut right down or as someone mentioned the Zastava AK pistol.

If expecting to do this, you better check very carefully before buying as all that I have seen have the folding stock welded -- I gave up on the idea after seeing where the welds are located.

That little vector 45 ACP would be very cool.

Consider and Encore/contender as well. THEN you can shoot whatever caliber you want and not have to be married to anything in particular.

A little rossie 92 would be sweet too. Not sure how short you would want to go though as SBR lengths there dramatically affect tube magazine capacity. Somewhere I saw a setup that slightly angled the tube mag to accommodate a suppressor, but I'm sure that was pricey lol.

Personally I like the ruger 77/357 for a SBR, say at about 10 inches or so. Subsonic stuff would be a hoot. The 44 would be sweet too, but I think it is tougher to find a suppressor that will handle that on a SBR without being too huge.

Look at the pic I posted on the first page, it can only hold 6 rounds after being cut and threaded.

The older ones were welded, later on the switched to making the button oversized for the hole so it can't be depressed and adding a bar underneath. In any case shouldn't be a problem and it's something unique. :)

Not too bad on the rossi, but yeah definitely a consideration there. That is where the mag fed ruler 77/357 shines. Take that barrel as short as you like and the capacity stays the same, though less than the lever action in most cases still.

All that said, I would take a nice short lever with a suppressor any day lol.

I'm currently working on an SBR made out of a Zavasta PAP M92 AK pistol in 7.62x39, when finished she should look something like this one.

You could also take a Ruger PC-9 and cut it down. Takes the P-89 magazines, some of which are/were in capacities up to 50. Heavy gun, by carbine standards, but semi-auto and can be fun to shoot.

Zastava M92's make awesome SBR's.

I took mine and mounted an ACE folding stock to it. It is an awesome and tiny gun. Quite a bit of noise and muzzle blast though. I am looking into a device to redirect it .

I can close to getting a PAP, but I actually decided on a dedicated 9mm AR. The biggest push was cost to shoot. With 223 and 762 being around $0.23/round, my 9mm reloads were looking a lot nicer at $0.05/round. I can do more shooting this way and maybe even save up for a suppressor next.

I ordered a Black Creek Precision dedicated 9mm lower rather than using a standard size with a mag block. Hoping it arrives soon. I'll try to keep everyone updated.

PPS43, Suomi, Magal replica...

My Form 1 for the Magal came in over a year ago, but I'm still collecting bits for it.
