"normal" 686 vs. 686 "Distinguished Combat Magnum" ?

I'm in the market for a new 6" 686...but there seems to be a variant out there called the Distinguished Combat model. What gives? Is it a re-branding of the same gun? Differences?

There's no difference. The 686 (all models) has always been the "Distinguish Combat Magnum."

If you want something different, try the 5" variant.

They were introduced as the Distinguished Combat Magnum, but S&W stopped naming their guns shortly thereafter. No differences.
