I sent a Ruger KP90D .45ACP that I purchase NOS from a local shop back to Ruger awhile back (the shop is now closed, or I would have started there).
It would FTE or stove pipe every third or fourth round with several types of ammo and different magazines. I own 5 other P90s and have NEVER had an issue with any of them,...EVER, (several have 5K plus rounds through them) as well as more than a dozen other Ruger's.
They returned it to me after two weeks with the same exact problem. So I paid the shipping the second time and sent it back. (FEDEX NDA $22)
Then they tell me it is going to cost me $35 "since it is a discontinued model and past the ONE YEAR INITAL WARRANTY (even though I had owned it a month at this point) and the LIFETIME WARRANTY has a $35 repair charge per repair (which I was not told the first time it was sent back).
So, I talk to a Manager named Debra at the Prescott, AZ repair shop and she says there is nothing she can do, pay the $35. So I pony up the money and get the gun back in about 3 weeks.
300 rounds later the recoil spring breaks :banghead: and the guide rod is worn, and back to Ruger again. Now they give me the choice of a voucher worth $400 for any new Ruger product, or my P90 back "repaired" with a new upper assembly and barrel, but that will cost me an additional $75!!!! and they will have to send it to an FFL, and not directly to me since it will get a new serial number. ?????
To this point I am in the hole $442.80+$22+$22+$35=$521.80 and I am seriously thinking about taking the $400 voucher and writing off the $122.
What do you guys think?
