That's easy- the one I have- an old Gen 2 Glock 23, ex LE gun. I don't really care for the 40, but I obtained this one and I don't really have any $ in it. It gets used as a sidearm when hunting, where the most dangerous critter I may come across is a hog. I especially like it when archery hunting- I could kill a hog or unwelcome coyote with it (or at least scare the thing away) without using a $20 arrow/broadhead. Same thing during black powder season, sparing me the the need to reload that thing. Or turkey hunting- saving me from wasting an expensive long beard round (that wouldn't be ideal for a hog anyway) and suffering the recoil from firing it at something besides a turkey. Not to mention the SD aspect of having a 40 auto in my possession before, during, and after the time sitting in the stand or blind. That 23 also came in handy regarding ammo a time or 2- remember when wally world quit selling pistol ammo? They marked every box of handgun ammo down to $5, regardless of amount in the box, brand, type of round, etc. By the time I got there, all the "good" stuff like 9mm and 45 was gone, but there was lots of 40 and 38 special. I bought all of it. I also found bunch of it a couple years ago at a yard sale for cheap and bought all of it too. Both "opportunities" prior to 2020, of course. Again, not a fan of the round, but if I can make a gun go bang for cheap, I'll use it for that. Other than those uses, that old 23 lives in my outside shed, stashed behind my tool box- just in case. Just because I don't have any special love for the 40, it is still an effective gun that works if I suddenly find myself in need of a handgun.
