Open carry, and making anti's pee their pants

You don't open carry to spark violence. You open carry, or even conceal carry, to help deter crime and violence. VT or Von Maur in Omaha Nebraska, both shooters would've been taken out sooner if they could conceal carry.

Being able to conceal or open carry takes a lot of responsibility and maturity, which your statement shows neither.

So, I'm not sure I understand the purpose of open carry, unless those who do open carry have time to just walk around town, without stopping to do any business, which is something I just don't seem to be able to find a place for in my schedule.

Kevin, you might want to check out www.pafoa.org if you don't know about it already. Lots of us are carrying openly in PA and we are not denied service in the vast, vast, majority of cases. I am in banks, stores, restaurants, professional buildings, gas stations, car dealers, so on and so forth, and have yet to be kicked out of anywhere. Now if you talk to jahwarrior, he is a magnet for that stuff. :D I think he's just lucky.

Notice: For those of you who read without any sense of humor, that last line was sarcastic. I do not really think jahwarrior is lucky. He just seems to find all those people who are anti OC.

Opencarry.org is a great open carry resource as well, particularly the state specific forums.

I also open carry routinely, the attitude of "I want to scare people" is why people get nervous around responsible gun people.

I do to show a good example of gun ownership and because I have the right to do so and it feels nice to not be in hiding all the time. It gives me the opportunity to talk to fence sitters, opportunities I would not have if I were not open carrying.

If I am open carrying I go about my business normally and have been in hundreds of stores and haven't had any real problems I have had a lot of people smile, nod, ask me what I'm carrying, ask me to reach stuff on a high shelf, etc.

If you open carry be ready to answer questions in a non aggressive and friendly way.

"Because I can" while a valid answer is not the best response to "why are you carrying a gun." The person has shown interest and your response will affect how they see other gun carrying people, we all represent each other.

If I lived in a state that had open carry, I think it would be awesome to see people's reactions when you walk by them with a nice shiny DEagle strapped to your side.. or maybe a Mac-10.

This post is so rife with misunderstanding the entire point of carrying a sidearm that it makes my teeth hurt.

Armueller2001, you really ought to sit down and do some thinking and growing up before you consider carrying any sort of firearm.
