Panera Bread; a weak response to anti gun groups.....

I read a media item today saying the local Panera Bread restaurants/bakery chain will no longer allow firearms in the location(s).
The managers also said no formal signs will be added & employees-staff will not confront any gun owners/CCW license holders.
Translation: Don't bring any guns into our store. If you are carrying legally and discreetly and we don't know it, fine. The criminal element may interpret this as Panera Bread being a gun-free and therefore free-fire zone. In those cases, we would greatly appreciate the aid and assistance of those discreet carriers that took this rule as it was originally intended.

"Ohio's laws for open carry does not require a background check, no permits needed, no age limit, and no training requirements," said Mueller. "

Hmm, sounds like the same way Arizona has been doing it for over 100 years, with a crime rate significantly lower than Chicago or D.C., I believe. :)

Have a sign posted in your shop? I'll find what I need elsewhere. That's all - I vote with my money in that venue.

Nope! :D
I am from the Old Dominion but I no longer reside in the Commonwealth.
Go Cavs! ;)

RS

Cavs? What is that UVA Wise?

UVA fans say...Go HOOS!!

I know a cop who open carries when not in uniform or on duty. I wonder what would happen if they asked him to leave and then he told them he was a cop.

Last time I was in Panera, they were out of almost everything on the menu, and service was...lacking. So, to honor their "respectful request," I won't carry my guns into their stores. Of course, my money won't be going there either.

True story!.....

I once went into a Starbucks & the server/barista informed me they had no coffee.
Yes, they had no coffee available. When I asked how a Starbucks could run out of coffee, she blurt out; "sir, we are a cafe not a regular Starbucks."

As for Panera's the soup is okay & the coffee is bland so I'm in no rush to eat there. The bakery does have a few good things but there are 3/4 other places near me & in my metro area I can go to(armed, ;) ).

Yes.
I work for Panera. I am NOT ALLOWED to go into detail.
There was an incident and a number of customers complained about the conduct and actions of a couple of the OC idiots.

We really don't care what you carry as long as you don't bother our other customers.

If that's the case then why did they seek out MDA? Couldn't they have released a statement on their own?
It just seems like they willingly sought out a very public and loud anti 2nd Amendment group.
