I haven't exactly been following the powder-burning fun toys of late, concentrating on the cheaper to shoot air pistols (no range fees, 500 pellets for about $6) so I happened to go to a gun shop on the way home from a Dr. Appt this morning. Looking at all the nice pistols they had, wanting to take several of them home, but seems that wallet just couldn't see eye-to-eye with me on that subject.

Anyways, I saw one that looked just a bit off, it was by Para Ordnance and said "HAWG" on it. She was a 6" barreled Super HAWG

Unfortunately, she looked like she needed some buffing to make her shine, and that $1000+ price tag more than took her away my wallet. But I did get to press that trigger and let the hammer down (using my thumb as a cushion, of course. Sweet!

Yea, I got a fondness for 6" M-1911s. :) Just imagining one in 9x23mm and the .357 Magnum level of performance it would give would really be cool.

Gooood looking pistol- almost brought one home with me once, then I read some horror stories about para

I have a P-14 (the full sized double stack) eats anything I can feed it and can hit just about anything I aim at, 1.5" at 25yrds

The 14 round mag was a plus for me but I have huge hands so it fits

I have one, and it's functioned perfectly for me after a ~200 round break in. As TheCol.U.S.M.C. said, it eats everything I feed it. As far as the caliber, I'm sure with a barrel and spring swap it would convert easily to .45Super/.460Rowland. I don't reload .45 yet, so I really haven't perused those options.

My only issues have been the polymer trigger and MSH. While they have functioned perfectly, I'm not a polymer fan and I intend to replace them with stainless steel. I've also installed a large magwell, and aside from more obvious reloading benefits the well forces my hand into a higher more comfortable grip.

I'm also considering buying wood grips for it, but no one makes them with the little tab coming off the back that para grips have.
