Hey all,

I didn't want to hijack the gun-club storage thread, so I made a new one just for me.

I am very excited to be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology in a few weeks. However, the no-guns policy has presented a solid challenge in terms of gun-storage. I've called many gun stores in the area, and none offer storage services. I also called the local police department, but all they had to say was that I could store it in a vehicle on campus (no thank you..).

Because of the high cost of membership and storage fees at the local ranges, I am left with the following options:

1) Rent a safety deposit box at a local bank for ~$140 per year (this could be illegal/against policy, I will research further).

2) Find somebody near Atlanta that would be willing to give up a Glock 19's worth of space in their safe for ~$10 a month.

Of course, a third option would be to leave the Glock here in WA...

Any ideas??

By the way, if any of you out there happen to live near/in Atlanta and have some extra space I'd really like to talk to you and work something out!

Thanks,

Does GIT have a student shooting organization or any sort of shooting teams? When I went to Purdue, it was no guns like most every other campus, but the student shooting club had storage space in our on-campus range that we would let members who lived in the dorms use.

Of course, if there are still people out there in the Atlanta area that would like to help out, please let me know.

Thanks again,

Live off campus ;)

My college, oddly enough, has a gun range in the basement of one of the buildings. All you had to do was register your gun with the campus police. And this was in 2009. University of Central Missouri.

Let me tell you, it felt just a little odd to be walking across campus with a pistol case and a .22 lever gun in an obvious rifle case!

In fact I remember one night, walking to the range, that my walmart bag broke and my 100 round bulk pack of Winchester white box .45 ACP busted open and rounds went rolling all over the ground... I just set my rifle case on the ground and started picking them up...lol.

I can't even imagine the looks this could get you some other places.
