Hello everyone, I know there's an ammo crisis right now, is it also extended to BP supplies? My googling has not turned up any place with Remington #10 caps which my uberti likes. No store near me sells them. I would like to buy at least 1000. If anyone knows a website that has any, could you share it please?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I can’t find them either and they are the only thing that fits correctly on my ROA. I’ve replaced the nipples with Track of the Wolf so I could use CCI 11’s which there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of in my area.

Great thread already started with very good info:

Btw remington 11s fit all aftermarket nipples that fit remington 10s... Nipples such as slixshots, track of the wolf, Treso, uncle mikes...all these fit remington 11s just as well if not better. I dont like cci at all..but they will also fit cci 11s. Cci 10s are too small to fit any of the nipples mentioned and dont even fit most stock pietta nipples. Only nipples i find they fit are the stainless OXYOKE RMC nipples. Very small nipples

There are 2 Bass Pro and 1 Cabela's stores within 60 miles of St. Joseph, MO. --->>> https://stores.cabelas.com/search.html?qp=St+Joseph,+MO,+USA&q=39.7674578,+-94.84668099999999
Try calling them to see what they have in stock since they're not shipping.
They get shipments in at least once a week.

Also call area gun shops and ask if they can order them for you.
They all use different regional distributors and some may have them available for order.
Some gun shops may even have some in the back room.
And I don't mean to only call a few gun shops, call as many as you can find in your county or within 50 - 100 - 150 miles of where you live and are willing to travel.
And some gun shops may ship them as long as you're paying the freight.
You are bound to find an out of the way shop that has some in stock.
Let the gun shops that you call look for them in their distributor's online catalog.
And keep calling them back to see if inventory changes.
If they can make money then they will find some.
That's they're job, especially if you want a large quantity.
They're not going to just drop into your lap without searching high and low.
Let us know how it works out, and if you buy a bunch then maybe you can share some with us. ;)

My preference is definitely Remington. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any for about six months.

Midway still has RWS 1075 plus available. I have some they work great with my rifle and revolvers. My revolvers are all pietta and have either slix shot or uncle mikes stainless nips.
Ive come to find out; that with percussion caps , if you can find a supply of some even if they aren't your fist choice you'd better buy as much as you can afford. A percussion cap that will work that isnt your favorite beats none at all.

I don't have actual problens with cci or other non remington brand caps...i just prefer remington as they "petal" open instead of breaking up into shrapnel of random pieces. Remingtons stay whole...atleast most do. Also remingtons primer mix stays in the cap moreso that other brands...i have had cci caps have their priming mix fall/crumble out, not remingtons. Like if you keep a tin in a possibles bag or somethin...cci caps dont take the "shaking" around so well, remingtons do.

I’m receiving 2400 of the RWS from midway. That’s all they have available and only in that amount. I believe the site said “six” in stock. Never used them so hoping they go bang on my various Uberti, Ruger. Armi and Pietta revolvers. All stock cones except an 1851 by Uberti.
Follow up: Midways fast delivery service put the cap on my front porch today. With exception of A Uberti
Revolving Carbine they go bang good enough on every revolver I tried.

Just picked up my first bp revolver (Uberti 1860) and all I can find anywhere are the RWS 1075+. They definitely don't fit the stock nipples no matter how hard I try to seat them. Even after a hammer blow they just compress and mushroom at the end but are still intact. Track of the Wolf stainless nipples are even tighter with the RWS, no way they'll fit on those. I've been searching for nipples that work with this cap and the word on the street is that Slix shots are the way to go. If that's the case I'll gladly stock up on those RWS.

I tried out some great nipples..stainless steel with smaller flash hole like treso nipples and have great fit with both remington sizes and cci 11s...and chances are will work with the RWS caps too. Posted about them a while back and well worth the price. Heres a link to where to get them. Theyre Uncle Mikes nipples...no longer made but have great reviews.

Site is kinda vague on internet purchases. No shopping cart no order forms. No hazmat info.
....I'll gladly stock up on those RWS.

Jedediah Starr has Remington & CCI #11's in stock at a reasonable price if you don't mind paying hazmat and shipping fees.
Also magnum caps. --->>> https://www.jedediah-starr.com/thumbnail.asp?offset=0&deep=2&cid=86

Remember, Winchester magnum caps are just rebranded CCI's.

They charge $27.50 for Hazmat plus whatever cost the shipping chart lists according to the order price. --->>> https://www.jedediah-starr.com/shipping.htm

I was telling my shooting buddy about hazmat fees were around $28 a pop at one time. He was astonished, never paid. more than $12 he said. $28 is steep these days but It is what it is. Midway just charged me $12 for the RWS. Then for some reason charged another $12 for shipping. So much for free shipping.

I’ve never used RWS but have heard they are top of the line.

Thanks for the info Arcticap, even with the higher hazmat fee I might snatch some up. I'm newer to this side of bp shooting, is the scarcity of caps due to Covid shutdowns? Hoarding perhaps?

Ok good for area residents. Site is kinda vague on internet purchases. No shopping cart no order forms. No hazmat info.

I buy from them and I'm over 5 hours away in another state so that dawg don't hunt.

If you want something, call them. They're a small, family run outfit that will take care of their customers and they don't spend lots of money on internet flash. If you don't get them at first, leave a message and you will be contacted.

Repeat after me- THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF BLACK POWDER CAPS

You're just used to going into a brick and mortar store and having them. The REAL shortages are in centerfire ammo components.
