Well, it finally happened, a monster attack my family and I fumbled. Let me vent my troubles to my 2nd amendment loving American brothers.
Tues, 28 July 2009 mid afternoon, I was at my kitchen table going through the day’s mail, I heard my dog barking. Dorothy, my 55 pound yellow lab and one of my best friends, was at my feet looking for food then-- she went ape **** at the front door. So- I wonder over to see.
I saw my wife, with my 14 month old daughter in her arms scared, screaming, and running across my front yard with a very large unknown dog violently in chase.
I instantly decide to kill what is threatening my family. So- at this point I was still in my kitchen I ran towards the front door, no gun to be seen, and no gun on my hip. On the way out the door I grab the only thing I could, a beer bottle from the night before off the kitchen counter, (an empty bottle of Samuel Adams blackberry witbier). As I exit my house though the screen door I trip, fall, and skid across the cement side walk. Now I am on my chest and really bleeding, my loving dog Dorothy runs over me towards the rest of my family. I get up and continue towards my wife and only child. Dorothy gets to the monster first, they start to fight, which gets my wife and child get yards away from the monster. Four or five seconds later I am able to get one good kick into the side of this ogre of a dog and swing the beer bottle near the head of this ugly dog, then this random unknown dog runs off in the woods. I decided to go to my wife and child instead of chasing the f-ing dog, everyone is fine. Wife is crying, baby is crying- but no bite marks on Erin’s calves. My dog Dorothy has no holes in her either. I am pissed, bleeding, and upset at myself for not killing the monster. The whole event honestly lasted less than 25 seconds.
I just got back from driving up and down the road I live on, cannot find that soon to be dead dog, I live in the middle of nowhere and know all neighbors within a mile of my home. The dog is grayish black with a green collar. I will kill it. The state troopers were no help, they took a report and left.
I am 37, I am wealthy, a gun lover, have 19 years in the army (9 as an active duty grunt, 10 as a medical officer 66f-as a reservist, still in), have done two deployments since 9-11, was in desert storm, have been shot at, and have confirm kills, my dd214 has three pages, I routinely shot idpa, have a unrestricted carry concealed pistol permit in New York state, I have a room full of guns and ammo, at my bedside are another three. In my gun room- there are no less than a 100,000 rounds. None of this helped me protect my family this past Tuesday.
I want pictures of how others have guns have their guns ready for action, no bull**** statements,, only real life pictures of your gun at its ready. Any idiot can say I have a so and so gun here or there, with an ac130 above my house at all times. I along with others need to have a better plan. I have started off with my own pics.
