It's a Savage 10FP in .308 Win. The base and rings are Warne, the scope is a Weaver Classic V 4-16x42 with Butler Creek lens caps. The bipod is Harris, the case SKB. I shot it for the first time Saturday morning, it was very windy so I didn't bother breaking out the match ammo, but I got WWB down to about 2" @ 100yrds. My first 8 shots from 50yrds made one ragged hole. The scope is great, it's crystal clear on 16x and the fine reticle on mine is excellent for precise shot placement. I've got a Bell & Carlson stock on the way, I'll post some better pics once that arrives.

Have one in .223 which shoots darn nice.

Please do show pictures and give your opinion of the B&C stock when you get it. Might want one for mine.

+1 for that. Nice rifle!

Edit to add:
I just noticed in the third picture that there are two circular marks (I assume from casting the stock). Do all Savage rifles have that on the stock? I assume so, but I was just curious. Again, good looking gun!

The factory stock on the Savage is, how do I say this nicely? Kind of crappy.

Cheap, lots of mold marks, and flimsy. I haven't met too many owners who haven't changed their stocks over to something more rigid.

I switched to a Bell & Carlson Duramax, and I love it. Very comfortable, and it did improve the groups on mine. Cut down from .75" groups to .375" groups....which is a great improvement for $90.00.

I LIKE IT!:D
I just posted twice about the Remington 700, but I must say, the Savage 110FP / .308 with Weaver scope and mount/rings was going to be my 1st rifle.

'EXPERTS' confused, confounded, and befuddled me for 2 years before I bought my Remington 700/7mm Rem.Mag.

HAD I ONLY BOUGHT THE SAVAGE/WEAVER combination, I would've been shooting 2 years SOONER.

You've made a great choice.
Congratulations.
The Bell&Carlson stock will be real nice. I've got 3 on 3 different rifles and like them very much.
May I ask...? As to the mounting of the scope in the rings/base...can you adjust them so you have an equal space for either the notches on the base or distances on the scope and still have the correct eye relief?
I have fun with this exercise trying to get things lined up both for my eyes and a balance of 'aesthetics' when the rifle is viewed by others. Might seem a 'bit anal', BUTT... I like things to 'look' just so.
Again, NICE GOING.

I wrote a review on the B&C Duramaxx awhile back. It's a decent stock for under $100. I'm not sure if B&C started inletting the stocks for the Accutrigger since then, or if they fixed the inletting issue with the recoil lug area not being wide enough.

I currently run the McMillan A-5 on my Savage 10FP.

Personally, I'd rather have the Savage factory laminate stock (found on the 12/112BVSS series) than the Duramaxx. It's got more weight to it so it absorbs the recoil better, the comb is higher for better cheek weld, and the forearm bottom is good for benchrest shooting.

Of course, if you want something 'tactical' black, then I guess you'd rather have the B&C than the Savage laminate stock.

But seriously consider the Savage laminate stock. You can get them new from Midway or Brownells, but they're pricey new. Surf the SavageShooters forums. Lots of people sell them new/used pulled from BVSS models. I got one for $110 from another Savage shooter. And I ended up selling it off for the same price when I took the rifle apart and parted it out, so it has good resale value.

I like that base! Here's a picture of mine in a Duramaxx stock-

I've been looking pretty hard at that McMillan A-5 as a replacement, but for now, the B&C works for me.
